good layout
So i've gotten pretty far in the game (all researches/skills/etc.)

I want to setup a nice industry for scaling stuff up to get the shipments and new story quests done efficiently.

If someone could give a general efficient layout, it would save me a lot of time and trouble.

I'm looking for basically what/where to put various drills/farms what to drill for what to farm, etc.

Good logistics (drone/bot) setups, etc.

I'd say use drillers whenever possible. That does 2 things. #1, you need less collector bots, so you can use more logistic bots, which is always a good thing. #2, you can cover a whole island with buildings even if some mining is required there. After all, you don't need rocks to spawn there anymore, you're drilling instead.

Same goes for automated farms. For the exact same 2 reasons too. (Except it's plants that don't need to spawn anymore, not rocks)

If you can go to the space station, then the automated farm blueprint, as well as the new assemblers and refineries blueprints are very important. The farm blueprint let's you use all the farms you want. The other 2 are probably in the top 3 things you can get in the whole game to be more efficient overall. They cut the resources needed by so many folds, they are as broken as broken gets in this game. The other crucial thing is lubricant. Use lubricant oil everywhere as soon as you get it. Then switch to super lubricant everywhere as soon as you can. There is another lubricant tier, at the end of the game. It is insanely powerful, but also very expensive. My advice is to try to balance all your production chains using the 4x lubricant first. Then build more chains if you have the space anywhere. Finally, start switching whole production chains, 1 by 1, to the ultra lubricant.

Else IDK. Drones that move things from island to island are your friends. End game power source is your friend too.

Hope that helped or gave you fresh ideas.

It looks like a sandbox game, but there's a very clear structure to how they expect you to bootstrap up, tiers of technology, and while there are steps you can skip, you really can't go wrong following the progress. I think the dominant strategy really is just following the steps up the ladder.

The only real advice I can give beyond that, I think, is strip out production bots for things like automated farms at every opportunity, and focus on getting plasteel so you can get your first rocket. Lean into steel and biofuel hard to move some rockets.

The ground-based market gives you prebuilds, but those prebuilds seem to be useless after you buy the blueprints - so buy and deploy all the prebuilds before getting blueprints. You can get some of these pretty cheap, and earlier than you'd normally have access to the resources they require.
