Advanced Farms?

There's a skill unlock doubling the effect of water on advanced farms. How do you get advanced farms? I don't see them anywhere in the research tree.

I think that is an error of some kind. I am pretty sure they mean regular farms and mixed something up. Those regular farms are pretty effective anyway. Just 4~6 of them and you got more mushrooms than you ever need

btw you can walk INTO BARNS and insiddeeee you can free your animals.

Is there a way to automate replanting of the farms? I figured that was coming with the advanced farms.

Haven't unlocked it quite yet but it's in the Interplanetary Shop apparently. My quest for that was on the first biome to need a Biome Scanner.

At first you can automate farming with the seed extractor. It takes some of the yield to turn it into seeds for plants that need replanting.

Open the farm's menu and set the type of plant you want to grow. Also build a seed extractor and set it to produce the right kind of seed, but DON'T set it to be attended by bots unless you need absolutely massive numbers of seeds - just make some seeds manually now and then. Your logistics bots will automatically handle replanting; you probably also want to set a collector bot to collect from farms. Make sure you have storage depots for everything or your farm island will get messy fast.

Once you unlock the advanced seed extractor, you can fully automate the seeds: just set its max inventory to a suitable number and make sure you don't have any depots set to accept that type of seed.

The advanced farm is an unlock from clearing a wild island to the southwest of the main island with a researched item, there's an alien with a spacecraft that gives you research for a shuttle to sell steel and a market to buy stuff with the money, a few of the unlocks are advanced farm units which is comprised of 6 plots and dispenses seeds/water and optionally, poop.

1 touch the farm and set what seed to us (logistic will handle that
2 find a worker bot and tell him to 'work the fields'

Also put up a SEED GRINDER to create a loop

build it on an island where there are those branches they eat and you got unlimited plants

Pigs eat twigs all day long, you want berries for poop.

They can be fed either by dropping berries on the ground which is messy. Using some feeders, which isn't ideal if you're using the bee island since those also munch on berries.

Or once you get the tech for it you can build a barn, walk inside and place into it up to three which you'll have to wrangle up.

So just a reminder to anyone the research tree is not the only way to unlock blueprints, just keep unlocking and exploring and you will encounter the way to unlock these blueprints.

Also, if you rush ahead for the farms, just remember, once you buy the blueprint, the packages will no longer work. So if you want to, I would first suggest buying all the packages, that you want, and placing them where you want them, before buying the blueprint, and it will save you on resources.

I didn't know this going in and bought the blueprint after only 1 farm, and kinda screwed myself until I got production of that 1 needed parted for it.

As this is an old thread, anyone know why the items are not getting taken out of the automated farms?
Ive planted the twig trees and the water plants, but none of the robots are taking care of it

Not played the game for a while but think the farms are logibots rather than collector, also double check that the drop off point isn't overloaded since if its full then they won't try to add more
