What Is This?
The description is vague and the screens and trailer misleading or unhelpful.

Is this an RTS, a tank sim, what?

Hey there, thanks for the feedback, if the trailer is misleading as well as description and screens we will change it, back back to your question:

Imagine Brothers in Arms game series, but focused on tanks + coop, with addition of managing your tanks and crew in between campaign missions.

Well the Uboat is about showing the interior of the submarine and giving out orders for each marine to work, here this will be more direct and more combat focused experience, rather than management sim

But will there be a way to play in first person, directing your tank from the view of hatch, or the cupola?

Yes, either from first perspective or from third perspective, from the outside. We are now deciding if we want to go full arcade like style, with one player directly controlling the tank, that is movement, aiming, firing or that the player is just one of the crews, and can only do his job and give out commands to other crewman

Of course no one asked me but in my honest opinion the people who will like the game the most and the ones who might stick with it the longest are the history buffs. Those people like me prefer a more realistic or simulation like gameplay. So I thing going the "full arcade like style"might be the wrong option.

The same is my personal opinion, but we are yet before testing this in prototype

Agreed. Arcade games are a dime a dozen, better to go with something a little more realistic.

Since they said they would be thinking about the player controling all aspects of movement and shooting, I think it would be really cool to have a system like the one in ArmA: sitting as the commander, 1st or 3rd person, yelling to the driver to drive forward, backward, left, right etc, and telling the gunner where to aim and what ammo to use etc. I think it would be very immersive with some good visuals, that they seem to have nailed from the store page

that or they could do a first person like Red Orchestra 2.

ArmA got both variants. And even if I think I'd mostly keep it 1st, I think also having 3rd is beneficial for players not falimiar with tank command.

I agree completely about this also....more realistic cant miss....Id like to see a first person perspective as the gunner within the tank also.
