Debuff & Elite definition?

I am confused about the definitions for Debuff. I think it is any thing inflicted by a stomach or belly?

And i also do not know how to tell if an enemy is an elite? Any help appreciated.

Elites and Bosses show up with Life Bars. And for definition of bubuffs, I think you were right.
