Getting the reduced team size emblems

For getting the emblems for a team of 1,2,3 and completing a mission do you just have to start with the requisite team mate number and play as normal or do you have to not rescue allies on the map for it to count?

im not sure, but i do know there's a secret achievement called old school defender where you have to beat a mission with only 1 character and your not allowed to pick up allies in order to get it.

i recommend playing 2 player with a friend just in case. because the characters are only added to the player mid mission if they are the one to rescue them. but everyone gets them at the end of the mission. so pick your party of 1,2,3 characters. and let player 2 handle all the rescues. and you should be good to go!

if world brothers had split-screen co-op you could kind of cheese it... but since it doesn't on PC. oh well i guess.

Hmmm I might look into just cheesing a bunch of early missions on easy while picking up allies to see if it just wants you to start the mission with whatever number. Hmmmm the first mission with Halam might be a good one since it only has one teammate and is very quick if you use one of the tanks

I tested it out. You must end the mission with the amount of teammates for the emblem. So for 1 you have to solo the entire level, but it gets easier for 2 and 3

thanks guess I'm just gonna spam the first halam mission
