COCOON
PC Game Pass no audio
Has anyone else lost audio with the update on Game Pass today?

I started the game earlier today and it was fine, but after the update, I have no audio.

The version is 1.0.11.0

Update: As per replies below, reinstalling the game is a workaround. Verify and Repair doesn't fix it. Some people have mentioned losing their progress, so back up your save file before doing this.
Save file location is:
C:\Users\[YourUser]\AppData\Local\Packages
Unfortunately, it's not named Cocoon. Look for the folder starting with "AnnapurnaInteractive.UniverseProject"

Thank you for letting us know. We will look into it as soon as possible, and post an update here as soon as a fix is up.

Thank you for your patience.

Could you try re-installing the game? This seems to fix it on our end.

Had the same issue and reinstalling did fix the sound issue, but also deleted my progress. Not sure why Xbox cloud didn't just sync the save file.

Strange.. a reinstall should not delete your progress.

thank you for the update.

Having the same issue, reinstalled fixed and I didn't lose my progress but ideally, a fix would be found to avoid this. Thanks!

had the same sound issue on game pass, tried to reinstall but lost all my progress :( I don't feel like starting over when I was so close to the end, it's a pity. Do you know of any way to get the saves back from the cloud? Thanks!

Same for me. Reinstallation fixed the problem.

@Carlsen : Don't know if this is related to this specific bug, but before reinstallation, this error was present many many times in the Player.log :

NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object at FootstepVFX.HandleFootstep (UnityEngine.Object source, UnityEngine.Object evtId) [0x00000] in <d8342420c5bc4a4ea27a1e6cd3f42395>:0 at UniverseEvent.Trigger (UnityEngine.Object source) [0x00032] in <9df5295c028e4a27a6916c9cab653fc7>:0 at UniverseEvent.Trigger (UniverseEvent evt, UnityEngine.MonoBehaviour source, System.String eventName) [0x00009] in <9df5295c028e4a27a6916c9cab653fc7>:0 at AnimEventHandler.Handle (UnityEngine.Object source, UnityEngine.Object evtId) [0x000cb] in <d8342420c5bc4a4ea27a1e6cd3f42395>:0 at AnimEventHandler.NewEvent (UnityEngine.Object obj) [0x00000] in <d8342420c5bc4a4ea27a1e6cd3f42395>:0

After reinstallation, this error is no longer in the log file.

Commenting that I had this issue too, and a reinstall fixed it

I can also confirm losing sound after updating, regaining upon reinstalling but losing the save file.
