Social Menu CRASH [UPDATE: Crashing Again]

On March 8, 2024 it started happening. Every time I go to the Social Menu, my game crashes and sends me directly back to the desktop. Is anyone else experiencing this problem? I have been looking around to see if this is happening to anyone else on PC.

Update for a few days it was back working (Tuesday March 19, 2024). Now it is crashing on the Social Menu again.

it has been a week, I did report this to WB Support on March 9. No reply. Still crashing on Social Menu and Quick Match.

For a day or two (March 19, 2024) it was working fine! - but NOW it is crashing on the Social and Quick Match menus again. Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

Crashed for me. Took off cross play and was able to access it again. Some mods mess the game up. Friend did giant take down and kicked me off game. Now I'm back to not being able to use social.

It is still crashing on me today.... My brother on Windows 10 doesn't seem to have any problems. Could it be a upgrade on Windows 11 that is causing this? I am on Windows 11.

I still crash on Social Menu and Quick Match... I am a Windows 11 user and I am using ethernet (Xfinity) on my Mini PC - Beelink AMD 5 5800H with 1800Mhz Vega 5 intergrated graphic card with 4GB dedicated vram. with 32 GB total. I have reported the problem to WBGames Support, the have replied with tips to do things to my internet and to reinstall the game and to make sure that Windows 11 is full updated. TO THIS DAY none of it has fixed the problem. There are others on Discord who have been having this Crash on Social Menu and Quick Match since March 9, 2023 - most of them say the problem is only presenting on STEAM and not on Epic games.

I would recommend more people with this problem Tweet the WBGames Support website and report the issue on the the WBGames Support website.

Send them your PC specs like did.

Did you ever got it fixed? Started for me a few days ago and I still haven't managed to find a workaround.

Think someone told to use the RGBPeripheralsEnabled=False in gameusersettings or delete the chroma folder in the game folder.
Also read that using offline mode works.
And then read from here a patch you can do for the game, with just using powershell, to make it stop crashing, but that's related to audio.

You can also try disabling crossplay, for yourself and your friend, if you both are on pc.

No issues for me at least, didn't have to use any of these, but I haven't modded the game. Max settings 1080p.

To add to that - the February official patch fixed that. Or April one. I dunno. I did use said unofficial fix and now I don't use it, and I have nor problems.

Huh, weird, with 32GB and 4GB VRAM, it's definitely not a texture streaming issue.

Suggestion if you haven't tried it:
- Delete everything in "%LocalAppData%l\Mercury\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor" and let Unreal to recreate them.

That being said, I'm not really aware if integrated GPU is any good. Even for a good gaming laptop you want the mobile version of one of the best desktop variants...

And also that if you have a desktop.. They expect builders to slot in an external video card. Since they expect that, they expect less to use integrated, so why not cheap out on the integrated graphics card? As for non-builders.. as long as it's enough to run Windows for a non-gamer, a low level integrated is fine.

There's just no profit incentive and businesses and enterprises need that.

No fix worked for me unfortunately, and I do not have any mods as I was playing online. From what I saw online it's a steam related issue, people on epic or the xbox PC app did not encounter this. Wish I would've gotten the game on epic, lol.

You can play with mods online actually lol. You end up using the host player's.

Gameplay-wise only of course.

The only "mod" that they will call you on is a cheaty savegame.

same problem for me and my friends, only way found to play coop are invite via steam friends and ignore abandon game menu' :(

So I was just having the issue and I managed to fix it... but I'm not sure what the fix actually was. I need someone who's still having the issue to test the following method:

- Download literally any save file from https://www.nexusmods.com/gothamknights/
- Go into C:\Users\[user]\AppData\Local\WB Games\Gotham Knights\Steam\Saved\SaveGames\76561198115199738 and CUT AND PASTE ALL THREE FILES to somewhere else, like the desktop or something DO NOT DELETE THE FILES (and if you do for the love of Bruce please do not empty your recycle bin)
- Install the nexus save (paste the contents into the folder)
- Run the game
- Crash it on purpose
- Reinstall your old save INCLUDING your OLD steam_autocloud.vdf
- Run the game
- Profit???

If that doesn't work I have a couple other potential things that might have been the solution, but I think it best to test them one at a time.
