♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hell , this Epic ♥♥♥♥ really pissed me off. None of the other solutions worked. This one did. THANKS
The game simply shows the 'EOS is not present on pc' error after launching the game.
Do you launch the game from steam or a desktop shortcut?
Do i have to wait for the installer to finish normally during step 2?
Do you have the game installed in a different drive from C:?
Thanks
All other games that released with EOS you could disable the installation and run the game without issues and online. There are even games that don't need EOS to be able to play with Epic Games peeps online.
In here you have to install it, to even play it at all. While the store page doesn't even tell that a third party app installation is needed to run the game. Plus that some people have issues even with installing it.
Basically just an idiotic update with 0 notifications that it was being added, and even if anyone buys it now, they won't know that EOS is part of it through the store page.
Epic Games paid them to do so, and that's it. Nobody was doing this patch for free, just out of their goodwill.
While ironically you can turn it off while being in game, and also terminate the epic games overlay in the taskmanager, if you do it fast enough it won't relaunch the 3 duplicates apps. And the game will run fine without issues.
Basically idiots put this into the game just for a quick buck from epic games.
I don't have to do it, game launches instantly.
I let the verification and updating finish for eos.
Also I deleted in the eos folder EOSOverlay x32 and x64 exe files.
D:\Program Files (x86)\Epic Games\Epic Online Services\managedArtifacts\"some numbers"
With that change the epic games overlay won't be forced on you. But don't try to delete anything else there, it will redownload it.
After your first time run, you could try this, turn off the game, go to the services and find epic online services, and make sure it's manual, you can try changing it to something else and back to manual, and then try to start it for the first time, then run the game.
Could be that the epic games overlay is hindering it, I also deleted the 2 overlay exe files in the epic games folder. So I you don't have 2 overlays in the game, or just a bloatware running with the game.
I didn't cancel any eos installation process or uninstall or reinstall it.
First time I had an issue where it didn't detect eos installation, but that was because for some reason it didn't start the eos service, so I had to do it manually the first time.
If changing the service setting back and forth the first time doesn't fix it, you can then just set it to automatic (delayed) or just automatic, next time you boot up windows the service will be running in the background, and if you're done with the game you can just turn it off later, or well uninstall the eos.
Anyway you don't need to uninstall and reinstall eos to run the game, only thing you need to do is start the service if you can't fix it with the tips I gave from my experience.
The error message we can get wasn't properly programmed, so it says the same message either you don't actually have eos installed, or eos service isn't running.
The error only exists for one reason when the service isn't running, which can have two reasons either it was never installed or the service didn't start for some reason.
Yes, that stupid delete to the 2/2 download is the only way I found to play this game. Sorry.
