they copied EVERYTHING about the 2 latest Marvel's Spiderman Games:
Suit Costumization, an Open World with civilians who recognize you, the exact combat system, plus escaping back into stealth with a click like Miles Morales does with his invisibility... But they had really good ideas when they did that, so it is really enjoyable.
It is weird to say that, but if you liked the 2 latest Spiderman Games' ingame mechanics, this is an amazing game with vast content. I understand the controversy this caused with people who expected something bigger than Arkham Knight.
I really did, it's awesome
need good framerate for good gameplay
I'd recommend perhaps disabling the Visionary [but I don't know about saves] pack to get rid of the crafting materials and gear stat boosts. Once you start crafting with it on/open a few trunks, you get super strong super fast. Good gear is supposed to come from the egg hunts. It really makes it too obvious that some game mechanics were split out onto the gear in a slapdash approximation of loot stats to support a loot system; I think they were designed as skills/abilities/item classes originally.
I fully admit that Marvel Avengers negatively influenced this game, especially with respect to the loot system, which I think originally may have been an item-equipping system; but I think there was also a design element envisioned to feeling a little weak in the early stages, which is why the game sends you back to the belfry to switch/reinforce. Until you've been tempered by the experience of not having Batman around, you're supposed to struggle a little individually with the four working as one to match Batman.
The core systems are perfect for RPing as a superhero. Haven't beaten the game so I can't comment on the plot very much...so far it's not exactly great but is serviceable so the core gameplay loop imo makes up for it.
It's kind of demanding though so if you're not getting good FPS refund it on Steam. Bad frame rates will make combat nearly unplayable.
