My opinion on the characters.
Red hood - Very fun, my first pick. Irony is taking on the job of Batman by shooting criminals in the kneecaps. Personality of a classic a-hole but that's kind of to be expected given the circumstances.

Batgirl - Thought this wouldn't be great but it's awesome, I like her personality and her fighting style is pretty damn cool. For some reason I seem to crash the bike more when playing as her. I'm sure the devs knew what they were doing here.

Robin - Actually quite cool which was unexpected. His default outfit looks like a damn Christmas elf but after you get a new costume I find him pretty fun to play. I especially like his skill tree. Classic 'kid' personality, he's basically the "dead weight" of the team.

Nightwing - This is what the post is all about. What an absolute cringe edge-lord. My god do I hate this guy. What an absolute fart-goblin. As in he probably spends all his time gobblin' farts. His fighting style makes me sad and his personality is so trashy. I feel like all the cool flips he does is compensating for how much of a knob he is.

Anyway. Interested to hear your take on your favourite characters. Please don't take my criticism personally as this is my opinion. Feel free to disagree though.

I play Nightwing mostly because I view him as the natural successor of Batman and leader of the team, but I agree that I don't like his characterization too much. I thought it would have been a more interesting turn for him to go away from the classic ladies man happy go lucky ♥♥♥♥, to someone who broods a bit more because he feels the weight of leadership, and starts taking on Batman's tendencies. That would have been a neat character development. Imagine Jason having to be the guy to cheer up ♥♥♥♥.

Batgirl is the most fun for me, followed surprisingly by Tim. I haven't played Red Hood at all really but am going to change that the next time I sit down to play. The way I've decided to do it is have each of them play the missions for a specific line of investigations. ♥♥♥♥ for the Court of Owls, Jason for Freeze, Barbara for Penguin and Tim for Clayface

That's a cool way to do it. I've been switching every night to give them a chance to sleep or whatever :). Yeah having Jason as the 'happy-go-lucky' type doesn't really work haha, would be funny to see though :).

Edit: I love that you can't say Nighwings actual name. Like steam doesn't wan't to give away his secret identity lmao.

I respect your opinion, haha. :-)

I thought they all turned out pretty well. I actually really enjoy Nightwing. He's the typical Assassin's Creed lead: an archetypal lovable rogue. I enjoy his combat style, his flying across the battlefield smacking people, his elemental darts (triple shot with elemental build-up mods and his elemental dart skill = heaven), and his sense of humor. Less "Joss Whedon quip" and more "I've seen it all, man. This stuff doesn't phase me anymore. Just going to gently mock it and move on."

I like Red Hood as well. He feels like a stoic, traditional hero with a hint of edginess and hidden emotional vulnerability.

Batgirl has a great combat style and a likable, somewhat neutral personality. She also has a great... well, hm. :-P

Robin was my least-played, but I still like him a lot, too. He's young and earnest. He clearly loved Bruce as a father, in an idealized way that none of the other Robins could quite manage. It's a good juxtaposition.

The leads are well-written. They did a good job with them. I have no complaints. There is a personality type for every player, with ones you might love and ones you might hate, apparently. :-D

Something for everyone :)

I'm just glad that all four are distinctive enough in terms of combat styles, animations and personalities despite of the player's personal preferences. For all we know WB Games could have designed one basic template and then copy 90% of the assets to the other three, and still charge us $60 for it.

Yeah that would suck :).

1st play through I played as Robin, and thought he was OP. You set him up with some high elemental gear, and he'll set the world on fire, man. I was never downed, and most groups died before I could do the bonus objectives.

On NG+ I'm playing as Red Hood. It took a while to get used to the switch up from a melee to ranged character, but once you get it down it's cake. If groups come through a door, and since the AI is dumb af, you pop them, and they fall like dominoes.

in terms of traversal skill:
Nightwing>Red Hood>Bat Girl>Robin

In terms of personality:
Red Hood (How i hope he is the Arkham Knight version, which is more edgy) >
Nightwing(witty, trash talk, kinda like Spiderman)>
Bat Girl> Robin

You just do one character for a whole play through? I've been switching every night :).
