Traversal Mechanics Are Slow and Delayed/Not Intuitive
Traversing is a massive chore, not through covering distance of any sort, but through trying to make sure you are able to meticulously time everything so you don't get caught on an object or stopped in your tracks by hitting a railing or ledge a weird way. There also happens to be issues with running through places and then brushing up against a box, wall, desk, table, railing, etc. and being stopped dead in my tracks and, for lack of a better term, being stunned for a literal second while my character tries to turn the appropriate angle to move away. It wastes time and completely ruins any smooth flow of movement when traversing.

Traversal is fine, however gliding is a little slow, I recommend using the bat bike for faster travel

I can get around by grappling or bike, TBH lack a glide sucks bad. The trade off is you can grapple like a good long distances or odd places, depends on how you like to get around. getting hung on random objects is a thing, but not many areas.

A massive chore for you. I feel it's too fast and easy. Almost Just Cause style.

Glide on Batgirl (when unlocked) feels like a big downgrade on the version we had in previous 2 Arkham games (slower, harder to turn, doesnt have the grapnel speed boost in the same way, couldnt see an invert option in controls etc). Quicker/easier to use the grappling hook and jump most of the time (unless you are at the top of a tall building). Hopefully the other traversal methods are better.

Honestly the Grapple is so good I rarely bother with anything else. I only used the Bike when having to travel to different regions and once I unlocked fast travel I no longer needed it.

Batgirl's glide is fine as a supplement to the Grapple. But the main thing I use it for is dive bombing the enemy for an assault/stealth attack.

You won't take fall damage or die, just jump to the streets then use the bike.
I had no problems with Robin's slideways. It allows you to traverse horizontally for 10 secs. Im okay with the teleport speed.

Also, slideways has pretty good take downs. slideway takedown is one cool takedown.

Another one is teleport to above the goon, and the option shows for either ambush takedown or silent takedown. Good for that specific mob you want to takedown first without being noticed by the mob. That is one of my favorite ways to take down because I can just move to above a straggler when they are searching, and silent takedown from above, or ambush take down to start a fight.

JL teleport is fine.

I like the traversal with Batgirl. And going into a glide lets me do takedowns like I was perched. I end up using it more than the bike unless I need to cross a bridge.

Whenever I leave the Belfry I grapple to the top of the Belfry and then I can glide over any bridge. You can get 75% to anywhere the whole city it seems like this.

Plus you learn the streets more than the bike because the view is so good.

it sucks because batgirl and robin are my top played but they have the worst travel powers. granted batgirl is like batmans glide its slow. robins travel power is just plan bad.

To be clear none of this is based on the powers or traversal methods, I'm happy with the speeds and functionality of those abilities. This is about the poor quality of responsiveness when running around/grappling. Primarily when you are getting more adept at timing ledge grabs, jumps, grapples, and directional changes, but any quick and precise inputs seem to be wasted at a certain level as the game either can't handle it, or does not have any functionality for it whatsoever. Your character will often stop if the direction changes to abruptly and seems to take a long time for the game to register input. Your character will just turn and rotate, but not move toward the direction you want to go without holding the stick down for a hot second in the direction you want to go. It's not horrible or the worst thing ever, but it is different in the sense that it almost feels like they just didn't polish it, and gave it a "It works" stamp.

Just for the record, it seems like you have to go a bit further than you might reasonably expect to unlock fast travel, but once you have it, between fast travel and the bike, it doesn't take more than a minute or so to get to any point in the city. The gliding/teleporting isn't as smooth as Arkham Knight was, I think, but it's definitely not a dealbreaker. For me, anyway :P

yup, waste of time, just skip unlocking them zipline is superior to everything.
