Steam Deck stuck at "Downloading Content 0%"
Just wondering if anyone has managed to get this game to launch on their steam deck? When I try, I just get a screen saying "Downloading Content 0%" and then get stuck. I've tried forcing the proton hotfix compatibility (and rebooting the system), redownloading the game and if I try to launch it from the desktop mode, it brings up a pop-up saying it downloading updates (which it gets stuck at). Clicking to view the updates then says no updates are available.
Anyone got any thoughts on how I can get this to launch?

is it STEAM saying this or the game? I assume it's Steam, if so you can try to verify integrity of game files if you haven't already tried that. I don't have a Steam Deck but I am running on linux and not having this problem, it's probably just Steam being buggy like always and likely not related to the game.
The game works but only if you uncheck any compatibility Proton you have. Mind you, the game runs pretty poor, between 20 and 30fps depending on where you go (even 17fps on bike sometimes).

Btw since the game has the worst graphical settings ever made, anything you turn off will do nothing to the framerate, and you cant go lower than 720p (which really doesnt do anythin for the framerate).

I'd say its vaguely playable, but not a great experience thats for sure.

When it comes to downloading the game I had no issue. It also detects the deck so performance is "optimized" (and really all I tried to change to lower settings... made things worse)

Steam. It doesn't get far enough to even load the game. Running it with the hotfix or with compatibility unchecked gets stuck at the "downloading Content 0%". Running it through the latest stable proton starts to launch it, followed by the steam wheel spinning and then it just exiting back to the steam library page.

Gotham Knights only runs on Windows 10 os. Linux and SteamOS are unsupportive as of right now. Game runs horrible on it.

One of the other discussions on here said to run the steam deck in a beta mode, rather than the stable one. It got it working on mine :-)

my 5 and a half hours of game time on SteamOS says otherwise

The game wouldn't load for me so I tried verifying the integrity of the game then restarted and it booted.

Like you I downloaded on SteamDeck and the game wouldn’t boot. I went to desktop mode it allowed me to get a little further but still wouldn’t boot. Then I went back into steam OS and went to settings > Local Files > Verify Integrity of Game Files. After that I was able to boot and play.

Beat me to it!!

Mine loads and plays fine, but performance is not very good at all. I think this one will have to be played on my desktop PC. Steam Deck is great for a lot of games and then not so great for others.

I tried that and still couldn't get it to work. I agree with STOPchris though, now I've got it working, I think the difference in performance is big enough that I likely will just play it on my PC for now

Having this same issue with Spider-Man Remastered on Steamdeck. This discussion was first to come up in Google searches. Any solutions?

Same here. It appears both Spider-Man Remastered and Spider-Man: Miles Morales are broken on Proton version 8.0-2.
To get them to work, enable the Experimental version of Proton for these games. On the game's page on your Steam Deck, Select the Settings (cog icon) > Properties... > Compatibility then check ☑︎ Force the use of a specific Steam compatibility tool. Once the checkbox is enabled, select Proton Experimental. The game should now launch correctly, bypassing the "Downloading Content (0%)" message.

Hello, guys. I have a resolution for it. Just switch your proton version on 8.0.5 and verify local files. After that, this game will launch. Good luck ❤️
