Why didn't they set this in the Arkham universe?
I mean, at the end of Arkham Knight Batman dies or at least fakes his own death (the jury is still out on whether he is actually dead at the of that game) and the plot of Gotham Knights is that Batman is dead so why set them in different universes?

I don't think he's dead, they won't kill off the single most iconic character.

In the Arkham Knight game Bat man was unmasked so my guess is that the Devs wanted to go a different route and focus on the Bat family like Bat girl Robin and Red and Nightwing so they had to change the universe to another story. I really don't care I just want to PLAY this game!! :)

because that universe is done, a new universe allows them better creative control over the narrative

We should never continue the Arkham series, each title should have it's end sometime and Arkham Knight had a good one.

Because 28 games with a prison setting are 25 too many.

I would not be surprised if this games plot was partially based on an idea Rocksteady had for a 4th game. But then when Rocksteady was unavailable they gave it to a different team, and just modified it some. As maybe Rocksteady owns that canon somewhat.

Arkham Knight was practically a copy of Origins story wise. I'm gonna laugh if Rocksteady does the same exact thing with Gotham Knights.

Also, your flag is for brainwashed sheep nazi zombies.

that universe isn't done though lmao. Suicide Squad kill the justice league from rocksteady coming out next year is a continuation of the arkhamverse. And batman is most likely going to appear in it
