Denuvo means that you have to be online for the server to check if you are allowed to play the game. All Denuvo games require a constant connection.

however it currently won't boot in SteamOS/Linux, only Windows. Wouldn't surprise me if an update for Proton or ProtonGE fixes any compatibility issues.
