How do you get off perches without going flying?

Usually when you sit on a ledge, you can hit control to climb down, but when I sit on a perch, hitting control makes me leap off the thing, breaking stealth every time, is there a way to jump off of perches without leaping off it?

I use a controller on PC too... but if i use B, that's the key for "dodge", you just drop down silently.

So i would use in your place whatever key you have for "dodge" on keyboard. I think/hope it's the same command.

So I just tried it with controller and you still fly off perches, are you sure you tried it on a perch? you cannot move on top of perches besides changing direction, kinda like the batman gargoyle perches in the Arkham games.

I haven't seen any way to do a drop straight down from those "gargoyle" perches... it's always a gamble. I try to use those perches solely for a stealth takedowns or the hanging takedowns.
What the other post stated works great if you're perched on railings. On railings, you will either drop straight down or if it's high enough, you will drop to hang off the edge of the building/catwalk and then you just press the drop button again to reach the ground.

Some missions don't have any railings etc to sit on, and only these perches lol..

I guess its better than going flying, but it still isn't the same as railings etc.

yup, why they choose to not have a jump button to better control the character is beyond me

use "crouch button", if your character are sitting on ledge or rail, crouch button make you go down 1 level behind you, so you need to turn your back then use crouch button in order to climb down.

there are 2 (maybe 3) types of perch's/Ledges.

Classic Arkham games batman ledges seem to not be able to press O/B to drop (with hands) but instead lets you leap.

Then almost every other perch, either its droppable with O/B or should do a small drop when moving (after patch)

Railings/edge of building = dodge will make you climb down

Perches = dodge will make you jump off but immediately down a short distance

Jump - will make you jump from the perch in the direction you are pressing.
