Tool for Creating Custom Clips

Hey guys, I have created a web app that will allow you to create custom clips for What the Dub. You can try it out at https://deusprogrammer.com/util/wtd/

It's still early access and running on my home lab environment, but if you guys use it and like it, let me know. Also let me know any bugs you find. I have a few known issues on my list already.

Otherwise, the tool is relatively easy to use. Open a pre-trimmed, pre-editted video file on the app, and then when you get the play head of the video to where you want to add a subtitle, hit "New Subtitle". Then play until it reaches the end of that subtitle and click on "Set End". Then repeat the process for new subtitles. For the missing audio section, just set the subtitle text as "[male_dub]" or "[female_dub]".

Lastly, once you are done just click the "Create Zip" button which will give you a zip file. The zip file can be unzipped into the directory What the Dub is installed in and it should unzip into the same folder structure the game uses and your dub will be added to the game. If you want to test and make sure your dub works, or just use your own dubs...just temporarily remove the other SRT and MP4 files from the two folders until only yours remain.

Disclaimer: I have no affiliation with the developer of the game and this product is the work of a fan of the game. The web app doesn't store any of your data, and works entirely in your browser. As the app is fan made, there is no explicit support for the app and it could stop working at anytime if the developer of the game decides to make changes.

That being said though, you are welcome to message me if you find bugs or want features added. Also, if anyone has a place I can permanently host my application, I would forever be in your debt. Thanks again folks, I hope you have fun.

Very interesting work. I had some issues with a videofile that didn't have a constant framerate but otherwise it works amazing!

Nope. It shouldn’t behave that way. Can you send me an example of a subtitle in Russian and I will see if I can reproduce it.

Also, there is a desktop version now that has a lot more features and bug fixes than the version currently on the internet.

The online version has been shut down, but there is a desktop version that I created that has a lot more features.
