I assume that this was after installing the update they released a day or two ago.
Sorry to hear that. All I can suggest is to load a save (probably from before you accepted that quest) or start a new game, and try again. Or just forget about it until the next update, and hope that it gets fixed.
Fair enough. It just seems like they've been going backwards in some respects with recent updates. When I first did that quest last year, I collected the sword before starting the quest and there was a bug that kept you from completing the quest if you did that. But when I restarted and collected the sword during the quest, I had no problems. But now it seems like there's a new bug (or maybe just one that I didn't know about before).
I do not know, I have found this game recently and was rather impressed by it, then I found ue5 version. And it is the only thing I am sad about, the performance of ue5 at this moment, not satisfying, but I hope they will somehow optimise it in the future. What I understand is that ue5 build is a fresh new thus in a quite rough state.
It depends on what you mean by "new". They released the first UE5 version here on Steam on July 31, 2023, so that's 15 months ago. Is that "new"?
To be clear, I'm willing to give them time and hope for the best, but some people seem pretty frustrated by the slow updates and lingering bugs. And it is a little disappointing that the recent "main" update (not the following patch) seemed to go backwards in some respects (based on the posts here, there seemed to be more quest bugs after the update than there were before).
It depends on what you mean by "this UE5 version". Do you just mean the UE5 version in general, or "this version" of the UE5 version?
The first UE5 version that they released on Steam was 15 months ago (there were presumably some releases on Patreon before that). Here's the announcement about it:

The first update for the UE5 version was late December, almost 5 months later. The second update was June 1st, over 5 months after that. The third update (in October) was 4 months after that.
So it was around 4 months between the last two major updates (not counting the recent bugfix patch), but 15 months since they first released the UE5 version on Steam.
My issue is with one of the "eliminate remaing threats". I kill all enemies but the north one is not marked as completed...
