Can't Start Carnal Instinct

What gives? an error pops up when i start Carnal Instinct. If this is what the new update has to offer i am not impressed!

Never mind. it was my AVG anti-virus being stupid. it's playing now

looks like you have a different error. for whatever reason it seems the new update wasn't agreeing with my anti-virus. but it's working now

What CPU are you using? This is a common error for 13 and 14th gen Intel CPU's when they've burned up to the point they become unreliable. There is no fix, It it's one of them, it'll will need to be RMA'd. Lots of discussion on YT about it.

It could also be a potato video card...

I have another computer that's giving me the same error code.

It seems many anti-virus programs are reading a critical file as a virus/trojan. My antivirus (Norton) read the file "Carnal_Instinct_UE5-Shipping.exe" as a threat called "IDP.Generic" and quarantined the file which caused the game to crash when loading until I could make an exclusion. Once I did that, the game loaded properly. This is not the only game I've had issues with recently so I think the issue is something with Unreal Engine

check ur antivirus isnt blocking the exe mine did this i restored and made exception now all is fine

That should be able to manage. As others have mentioned in the thread, please double check to make sure that your antivirus hasn't blocked any of the game (seeing a lot of reports about Norton/Avast not liking it).

If you have no luck with that then right click the game in your library -> properties and put -d3d11 into the launch options field.

If you're still having no luck then try replacing it with -vulkan

That worked, I installed the most recent drivers and it works now.
