Can't Continue 'Call to Adventure'; Amara Disappeared After Close and Open
I couldn't get Amara to say anything except "The Chosen is coming" or something like that, even after I interacted with the Temple of Ascension. The screen would go black like it was entering a dialogue scene, but there was no dialogue scene. It was getting late and I needed to get up early so I said I'd come back and do it today. She's no longer there, but my quest marker is still showing the same location and my quest is still to talk to her.

If you fast travel away from there and back again you should see her again.
At least that is how it was for me. She is completely bugged for people with old saves though, so you can't currently progress that quest on an old save.

Thanks for the heads up. That's a very annoying bug because I'm not starting the game over. I honestly might just go back to the old one until the next update.

So I actually was able to do the quest when I manually loaded a save, but I can't continue the quest still because no matter how I interact with the Shrine of Ascension, Amara still tells me that I need to interact with it to unlock my mask.

That is where it stops working for everyone with an old save.
Other new questlines such as the Golden Fold one is also currently not doable with an old save as a NPC never spawns no matter what you do (fast travel trick doesn't work).

I will wait and hope it gets fixed but I honestly don't have the energy to re-play the game from 0 every patch so if it doesn't get fixed I will shelve it and wait a few years for either a release or for enough content to be released to justify replaying the game.
Another way to fix it would be to add a cheat command to allow us to skip some grinding and/or questlines that we have already completed.

I'm getting this bug with a new game as well. I've just started playing so I never had an old save or older version.
