Carnal Instinct

(UE5) Game Unplayable for anyone else?
Specs:
I7-9700K CPU
2070 Super GPU
32 Gb RAM

Settings:
Low everything

I can barely play the beta even at low settings. Very low fps and constant stuttering and visual glitches (sky bugs out and has a sandy filter over it as well as randomly having my UI have a border of sand) not to mention my FOV and resolution settings keep resetting everytime I pause the game. Ive seen people say this game runs great for them with hardware similar to mine so I'm confused on why mine runs so poorly. I know the beta isnt optimized but I can barely move in the game let alone watch a video or listen to music in the background.

Any advice is appreciated, thanks.

Uninstalling and reinstalling the game did work and raised my fps considerably, however when I entered the wine cellar during the tutorial my frames dropped into single digits and remained that way when I exited back into the world.

Does this still happen if you reset your video settings to default? Something else that may help here is enabling DLSS.

After applying the settings, save & load the game and it should fix the sky/sandy filter etc.

First thank you for replying I really appreciate it. Resetting to default does not fix the problem unfortunately neither does DLSS on ultra performance to quality. To further clarify reinstalling the game fixed my fps issues however loading into buildings and progressing further inland tanked my frames even on low settings. Saving and loading did fix the filter but framerate was still an issue. Again thank you for replying.

While my spec is higher than your when i did see stuttering i reinstalled the game to a faster SSD then eventually an m.2 drive (only for space)
After moving it to a high performance SSD Evo 970 i no longer saw stuttering or audio skip. It may be just a reference read write on your system.

I have virtually the same specs except a 3070 and 16Gb of ram. For some reason even when i lower the settings my card is running at 100% the whole time.

I'm running a mere:
i76700K with 16Gb, a GTX 1070 with 8Gb. I'm at 2K (because of the monitor) and the lowest setting I have is "High", many are set to "Epic".

Your hardware is not the problem. Neither is it inherent to the game. That said...

My machine gives off a LOT of heat when I'm playing this game.

BUT, the game runs smoothly, no jumping or rubber-banding.
i got huge amount of lag too even on low everything and i did all possible fixes and still lag and my game also crashes too. so annoyed that i may end up switching back to UE4 version of the game at least it didn't lag at all.

UE5 is more demending than UE4 version for sure. Even with a high end PC (4080 super) i can't really sustain more than 120FPS in 1440p high/ultra with DLSS+TLAA like i did in UE4

The lag was a little annoying, but when I went to the island north, with the Annubite camp and the pleasure seekers, it got extreme and unplayable, especially anywhere near the Annubite camp.

Bump, having serious issues on my end also.

My pc is getting old but still runs this game on the highest settings with no problems i have my fps locked at 60 because who needs more than that for a single player game i have AMD Ryzen 5 2600 Six-Core Processor 3.40 GHz 16gb ram and a gtx 1080 i have all settings on ultra v sync on i haven't tried to mess with resolution scale or fov because before they would just revert back to default and it wont let me turn on dlss/dlaa so not sure how it would run with those settings but i can stay between 50-60fps no problem

Yeah I used to be able to run ultra without problems. But ever since the new update, after around a few hours of gameplay, the game's fps suddenly becomes horrible. Loading any of my previous saves (regardless if I make a new one) shows the pleasure island to be completely gone. I suspect my save file had been corrupted somehow, which caused it to happen, but I hadn't tampered with the game at all

I'm having issues too. My screen goes very dark as if it were a very dark night. Can barely see anything. I too am running a 2070, but i dont think that is the problem.
