Get used to Pre-Alpha, it will change over time, give it a chance.
Yeah them the breaks at least how many times I've may end up redoing stuff I will most likely know every quest in and out by heart.
Looting 1 key (and 1 key only) and immediately using it on the closest cage seems to work.
If you loot a key, ignore the cage, leave the area, wait 5 minutes, and return to that cage or another, then that key(s) will no longer work on any cage. You will have to kill and loot the jailer again before you get a key that works. This does add useless inventory keys especially when it is possible to loot 1-2 extra keys at the same time from the same jailer.
Once the prisoner(s) is freed, the key(s) still spawns on the jailer and all looted keys will bloat inventory. The cage map marker will return, but there is no lock to open and of course no prisoner to rescue.
