And its so damn buggy now, and no clothing or accessories spawn anymore. Its so damn dull and uninteresting. Just unlock the alternate races and such at character creation...
Neither of which I would consider as even being needed for this game.
For me, the exploration and the story, of finding stuff, are just as important as the 'personal fun' bits.
Being the game is Pre-Alpha, I would have concerns if adding any sort of cheats at this stage could cause more problems then they are presently worth. If anything, it would allow for even more things to go wrong, and mean yet another thing for devs to worry about.
The best we could possibly hope for, is likely stuff the devs already have in place for testing purposes. Of good old fashioned Console Commands.
For the bugs, it's Early Access/Pre-Alpha, so we will have to expect such games to sometimes be as buggy as a termite mound at times.
For the clothing/accessory issue, is it just specific enemies not dropping anything relating to clothes or accessories? Is nothing being found/dropped in general? Or is it a specific clothing/accessory item you are not finding?
If the later, of a specific item, I have heard a at least one outfit was temporarily removed (from a boss in a quest), until the outfit(s) are redone to be compatible with the present character customization system.
For just unlocking everything off the bat, I have mixed views.
On one side of things, our character starts off as a slave freshly shipped in from who knows where, starting at the bottom, it seems odd to want to start with everything off the bat.
On the other side, it would be nice to have an option to unlock stuff we unlocked previously and to tick off quests we already did on a previous playthrough, to speed up checking out new content after a major update drops.
Takes less than 40 minutes to unlock literally everything.
Quest-related races unlocked in like 10 minutes.
Takes like 5 minutes to start -> swim -> shoot bow at jailer -> kill jailer -> unlock smith -> sell all gear at camp -> buy mats for Damascus LS -> lol "combat"
Slight exaggeration (because level requirements) but still holds. You can get strong weapons fast. Basically cheat mode for combat.
If you manage to die after that, you're actually trying to do it.
If your attention & patience are less than 40m for a complete run & victory wank, forget the game until next year and go watch your Tik-Tok. Then you can enjoy the Alpha gameplay... lol
The issues and bugs I am talking about came about through a more recent update, they weren't there originally. So before slamming people, understand what they are talking about. I am not writing this as a nasty reply, I am just saying to calm down and don't jump on others in any discussion about an opinion they may have.
The original poster was upset talking about wanting cheats, I agreed and would like to have some way to not have to replay the game (again) to get things that used to be unlocked. I am also dealing with a combat bug that did not used to be there early on, but came from an update not too long ago. So I was only agreeing with the post wishing there was a way (cheat) to unlock things without having to replay the entire game once again.
That's all.
If you want to test stuff by skipping the bugs, get CE and start figuring out the tables. Finding the bugs helps the development of the game though. Why hop on a forum and beg for cheat-mode without benefits? I don't think I'm misunderstanding my position in my purchase power here.
I apologize for being a tad-bit on the exaggeration earlier, my bad. Consider this though, instead of complaining about bugs slowing you down every wipe- why not just report the bugs instead? Small indie-game. The devs are made aware, next update probably in month. Plenty of time to learn CE then. Theres your cheats. The gate is open, go. Be free~
We do report the bugs.
This is my last post here... your just missing the point. We are just looking for a way to get past the "resets" that come with the updates, as DevilsBane99 said. We are just looking for a way to be able to freely enjoy the game while all of the updates roll through. A lot of us have had this game for a very long time, we have played through the available content multiple times, an update comes through and makes our saves invalid and we play a lot of the same content over again to reach the new content.
I still love the game, I really dont have anything negative to say, I just dont want to have to restart from the beginning all the time or struggle to get my character back to where it was previously. Currently, I just dont have the desire to play AGAIN through things to unlock content that I have had previously... AGAIN.
Cheats, debug, whatever you want to call it. We are just looking for a way to enjoy the game without making it tedious, to have fun, and to continue looking forward to all the updates and new content that we are sure is coming.
No hate, no anger, no drama. We were just talking about the above.
Being able to skip a story if you feel like it destroys the vision of a developer though, so the question is: What's more important, allowing people to play how they want and maybe sell more copies in the process or don't allow cheating/commands and probably sell less.
It's not like anyone is forced to cheat and as pointed out above it's a single player game.
But wait, there's more. Allowing cheating opens the game up for those that want to mess around and don't NEED the story/chapters fleshed out. It's win win.
I'm not saying everyone should check out this game, which is why I'm not naming it. I'm saying if that game can have cheats as an alpha, a free to play one in fact, why can't this one that you have to pay for?
In any case, I like the game, but having to start from the beginning after almost every update or after encountering a glitch that halts your progress is really annoying, and this game has no way to alleviate that.
Without telling me you just want to watch people bang without having to put any effort into it.
EDIT: In fact, there's a very well known website specifically for doing exactly that. It might be more your speed.
