Game Crashes Computer Upon Clicking it at any Point
I've been trying to even play Silica, but every time I boot up the game, if I click it the screen to skip the cutscene, alt-tab to do something else, or just hit spacebar, the screen turns gray, I get a loading icon, and my entire computer crashes and reboots. I've tried reinstalling the game to a faster hard drive, but there is no improvement.

I'd be happy to provide additional details, but without a fix, I will feel justified in requesting a refund.

Does this happen with other games? Also how are your temperatures?

That is odd that your whole computer reboots, for the most part just the game should crash if there is not potentially a hardware cause at the root.

It could very well be a hardware issue. Unfortunately I'm not particularly sure how to check temperatures as whenever it becomes an issue, the computer shuts down.

This does not happen with any other game in my library. Even Marauders or modded FO4 results in an occasional CTD, not a computer failure.

I should note that I did try playing Silica later in the day and it successfully ran, but I'm not sure what was different - prior crashes occurred when I had not been using my computer for anything but viewing PDFs beforehand.

EDIT: Context

This is a PSU issue the way you describe it, either due to building error or due to natural degradation of the efficiency of the PSU. If you get a BSOD, it would be a driver or RAM issue. If the driver crashes and results in a CTD or your screen freezes and your PC becomes inoperable, it would be a GPU temperature problem. Usually.

Edit: I misread and didn't see the thing with the loading icon. It's possible that the thermal throttling on your GPU is broken, so it won't just crash the driver. Still shouldn't just restart your PC, since power cycling like that isn't safe when it just overheated. Instant shutdowns and booting again is usually indicative of a problem with the PSU at peak loads.

Get MSI Afterburner and change the power limit to 50% and try it again. If it works, you have a temperature or PSU problem. If it doesn't, it's related to your RAM, CPU or drivers.

Believe it or not, I was having a boot registry error in my computer that was causing various programs to initiate a systemwide crash. I solved the problem by backing up my hard drive's contents and then reinstalling my whole copy of windows from the ground up. In my case, it was after significant troubleshooting and escalation.

You might see problems that are solvable with reinstalling the game in question, verifying file integrity, or performing a Windows OS reset that preserves system contents.
