This is extremely disappointing, I think the game is done.
You are responding that fixing that bug is disappointing. At this point it's unclear there's anything the developers could do that you wouldn't react to negatively. Personally, I hope that developers fix unintended issues in their games.
Here:
You also literally dismissed everything else I wrote. You don't even have the game but hey if you want to just consume blindly go ahead just don't go on trying to start something with me.
Perhaps the update message's language is imperfect. Not trying to start something. You have made it clear where you stand on the game.
People who played the game know what’s up, probably a bad Survivor player who doesn’t care about the game’s health. Or brainwashed by them in which case I suggest if you like the franchise/game you better start caring about actual complaints.
And yes, me and 90% of people who actually play both role made it perfectly clear where we stand and how frustrated we are. What is your point when majority of playerbase are not happy? How is this a “gotcha!” moment when we are not even being subtle? Need to remind you game was given away for free on both EGS and the giant Playstation and the players retention was pathetically low?
But you know what I think this patch will be the last for me and many others. Won’t even buy the DLC if notes aren’t worthy or even launch the game. So enjoy having your little “positive” playerbase who will be begging saber to fix “queue times bug” in no time.
I cannot believe you still keep promoting that page when many of us asked writing there and you ignore us repeteadly. Not even acknowledge of received or that you could consider the suggestions made there.
I love a lot the franchise and I still respect your studio, but you need to listen. It is important to:
- Bring new players
- Brought back the ones who left
To do so, you need please to listen and:
- Improve the actual matchmaking and add an SBMM to improve the experience for new, casual and not so good players
- Improve the tutorials, specially the Demon one. They are very basic
- Only expert demons are playing, to learn you should add Demon vs AI mode
- Many people is still asking EXP, spiritual points and progression in Vs AI mode, not just for difficulty, but also for the long matchmaking times.
- Give some love to the loyal PC people that bought the game in Epic and bring there achievements too. It is not fair that you add them in day 1 in Steam but ignore Epic players and Epic who is doing a great effort implementing an achievement system with XP and Trophies
- Cross progression in PC is key, many people won't buy if they have to start from scratch.
You cannot continue in the eternal cycle of buffing/nerfing characteristics of the game. Fan service with skins and characters is cool, but you won't retain or gain new players like that. You need to make the game more friendly, specially with new and casual players.
I am pretty sure I am talking for many people. It is true that you have a loyal fan base that doesn't complain and celebrate everything, but they are getting smaller every day.
We really hope that update would be really, really huge. It would be greatly dissapointing if it just another cycle of buffing/nerfing and no real improvements in matchmaking, quality of life experience, and make a more friendly environment for new and casual players. You know that for them, playing as Demon is pure hell?
Just loaded up the game on EGS after not playing for 9 months and we STILL HAVE NO FOV SLIDER?!
PLEASE implement this for the steam release! As it's the first thing people will leave negative reviews for, I can't believe it has been left out this entire time. The game is vomit inducing. I don't believe motion blur can be disabled on consoles either?
I would like to buy the game on Steam after i have played it for free on Epic. But if all my progress is lost in the process, I dont see myself putting down money only to have to start all over again.
I have just under 300 hours of gametime and I have had lots of fun along the way. Despite the various bugs and other issues with the game i still think you guys did a great job making a good addition to The Evil Dead universe.
So thanks for creating a fun game.
For WWZ we never received official cross progression, but transfer of the save file from Epic to Steam, this was a very manual and unofficial, but it worked. Maybe, maybe it could work for this game, but we cannot be sure of it.
The thing I don't agree is about a "fun game", I love all the fan service, references, voice lines and everything related to the franchise, but, as gameplay: it is broken, since Saber focused only in retaining the players who promotes the infinite cycle of buffing/nerfing characteristics of the game, they kept a static closed high level player base, and us new, casual, and returning players get our a*s*s* kicked everytime we play. There's not SBMM, and playing as a demon is the worst experience ever, never had been more trolled in any multiplayer game, whether asymetrical or not.
Maybe you are happy with the game and consider it fun because you could be able to keep up with the people who grow their abilities and you can compete with them, but for us new, casual and returning it is a real nightmare.
- The active community is a closed and static player base, not PSplus or the freebie week in Epic managed to increase the base player. It doesn't increase because the experience for new players is painful, specially for demons.
- New content is 90% skins and characters, no major innovations besides the horde mode hat wasn't as succesful. This new content is attached directly to a business interest to sell DLC, not to improve Gameplay
- Twitch players are usually high level players that are matched with other in high level that keeps playing. For the usual and regular player matchmaking takes longer than 10 minutes usually
- Of course demon matchmaking is faster, but experience is awful, a lot of trolling by Survs. The only demons who are playing are the high-level ones
- I do care about Epic update because:
a. Epic players are the only ones who doesn't have achievements. Even Steam will have them
b. I bought the game in Epic in pre-sale. Seeing that this version is the one who received lest love from Saber is highly dissapointing, there's not a loyalty reward for clients who have played since day 1
Saying that Saber is doing everything perfectly is to distort the reality and induce a premature death of the game. It is not fully dead, but its player base is very static. New players won't stay if there's not SBMM, they will get trolled. After a while, when the last DLC is sold, game wil start to fade, the game doesn't work offline, so yes, it will die eventually
I think they are the ones who will be crying "queue times bug" 2-4 weeks after the update (and Steam release).
