The only game I've bought twice - Epic / Steam
Contrary to everyone complaining in this forum, I will say this introductory Steam sale for the GOTY edition is a great value for those who already own the game on Epic.

I bought the game on Epic at release--before it was free some 8 months later or whatever it was. I also bought the 2013 DLC on Epic because Mia in that climax of the 2013 Evil Dead is one of the greatest cinematic moments in horror film history. That's it. No other money spent on the Epic store for this.

Simple math, if I were to buy the rest of the DLC individually on Epic, it would cost more than buying the GOTY edition here on Steam. I rarely spend more than $10 on a game (My library is flooded with Humble Bundle games) and buying this again doesn't bother me at all as I'm basically just paying for DLC I didn't have. Now, I have it on a platform I like better and will play it more often on.

Would I have bought all the other DLC? No, probably just the DLC with Ruby. Even if I don't play it more often, and despite the fact that I wouldn't have bought the rest of the DLC, I am happy to just be supporting this game. I don't think it's the greatest at everything it does, but one thing it does exceptionally well at is capture the tone of Evil Dead. Phenomenal. This is also the reason I hold great respect and love for the 2013 film. So good at creating a dark tone and atmosphere! Ash vs Evil Dead was of course an exceptional return to form for the original team, as well. Too bad all of the entitled internet thieves killed the show.

Regarding player base concerns for online play, I don't care. The environment and world they created is so well done that I have honestly just loaded it up and played the exploration mode.

TLDR: If darkness soothes your soul, don't be afraid to buy this again.

The cost isn't so bad as the not be able to transfer progress issue but it is what it is.

And that is fair.
I imagine that's an Epic vs Steam issue making things difficult when they don't need to be, which is also fair to criticize. Certainly, I could add to my TLDR, don't buy Epic exclusives. I see Pinball FX is on Steam now? Glad, I didn't buy anything for that on Epic. Though that's mainly because the optimization was weak at the time.

The GOTY upgrade version was the same amount as if I would have bought a new account on steam. I just didnt want to loose all the levels I already had.

You don't need to post a wall of text to justify your purchase.
