Banish move in combat

does the "banish" move (on PC: 'E' key) with the red bar that recharges when I hit enemies do anything else besides that it is a bigger attack ? Shall I use it anywhere special on ? Or is this just a simple combat relief to give a big hit to the enemies.

Some skills use your banish bar to empower other attacks when it's full, other than that it's just a special attack that charges up, no need to save it for special enemies as far as I've seen

I’m probably wrong, but I think if you use banish to finish a possessed body, it doesn’t leave a specter.

There is a skill in the evolution tree that heals some % every time you banish. you can buy one that used banish points to double the damage of shotgun or leap.
