Point of No Return

So, I got to the point in Love Finds A Way where I'm supposed to go in the void and reach New Eden. Before entering the void I get a message that there is no returning. Does that mean I have to finish the main story if I choose to go, without being able to take breaks and go back for haunting cases? Or is it the case that I'd better do all my haunting cases before entering the New Eden void? This may be obvious to some, but I just want to be sure.

Point of no return means you won't get back to the world, it's straight to the endings and then roll credits.

Finish everything before that.
