Well obviously there can be no more updates because the development studio is no more. You will just have to play it as is.
I just have these two questions. Does your termination of the studio and doing freelance mean abandoning your existing projects?
Have you relinquished the rights to the title 'Rise of Industry 2'? The game is in production as announced by Kasedo Games.
Infinite thanks!
Unfortunately so. We wrapped up everything internally before this decision took place. Never left a client, publisher or player hanging: what we announced, we finished.
Having sold the rights for RoI some time ago (https://steamcommunity.com/app/671440/discussions/0/5561388294346272901/) means that the current IP holder (Kasedo Games) can do whatever they want, including the sequel they announced. I took no part in its development and even discovered its existance just not long ago
Grato por suas criações inspiradoras. Lamento profundamente ouvir sobre o fim do desenvolvimento de "Recipe for Disaster". Seu trabalho sempre foi uma fonte de alegria e admiração.
Atenciosamente
Thank you for your creations. I am deeply sorry to hear about the end of development on "Recipe for Disaster". His work has always been a source of joy and admiration.
Yours sincerely
Regarding RoI: lost everything. As for RfD: it will go personal, unfortunately (more taxes, thanks Spain...)
Sucks to hear about the tax situation, i hope it's not as much of a negative as it sounds like it could be. And, I'm excited to see what your next venture brings, if game design as a business comes back as a passion for you, or can work financially. But, whatever the case, I wish you a positive experience in whatever comes next in your journey through life. I know other devs have had the same struggles when "make games for fun" turns into "work to make games".
Now the RoI IP is owned by Kasedo, hence them doing the sequel. I'm in no way involved with the design nor development.
The "make games for fun" only applies if it's a passion project. They stop being fun the moment your economic stability comes into play. "Love the process, not the product" is a new phrase I'm starting to say quite often to studios I've been helping. The game you envisioned was twisted many iterations ago, now you're just making something to market and profit from. If that's not your thing, do gamejams or change industry. Sad...
and understanding,
as well as encouragement ;
I understand what you went through. Your efforts weren't wasted. They were enjoyed!
Hosting an experience for other individuals to escape and grow is a more then full time job.
During 2010-2015 I hosted a Minecraft server - but it was unlike any other server. Players could make their own arenas and I would go in behind them with plugins and triggers to make them come alive. I also gave this power to the admins and mods, which I laboriously vetted and trained and equipped to do the job. Creative expression was paramount and natural, at that time.
But I had no idea the lasting impact it would cause.
Players, a decade later, would find me out, and write me long letters of appreciation saying - in summary "I was in such distress but logging onto your server and creating worlds had such an emotional impact on me" or something similar. You never know the stabilizing impact your creative works hold on some individuals.
The positive feedback for enabling people to live out their dreams is immense, and only visable years after. maybe. Lord Willing.
I hope for and bless you, By the God of Heaven above, that you see the True Fruits of your labor, the fruits of all the effort spend and stress underwent, the hospital visits, the sleepless nights... I bless you to see, at least in part, from the 10% of grateful ones, of the blessing you bestowed on others because of your intellectual efforts.
Baruch Hashem.
Baruch Yeshua.
It was not wasted.
Time will tell, but I know it was not.
May the messages of those in appreciation be encouragement for you.
Be encouraged in all your endevours!
