Gross Raw ?
The game developers state that they want to avoid discussions over taste. So every combination is allowed in recipes and the dish will sell as good as any other. That’s a wise decision because what is considered tasty varies around the world and you avoid a lot of discussion.

However the developers are not consequent in this. If you use Raw onion (commonly used in salads) of raw garlic (used in garlic sauce) the recipe gets the tag Gross raw. My English is not that good, but I think its meaning is taste awful.

I don’t know if it affect sales numbers of the dish, because I don’t want a dish on the menu with the tag Gross raw.

Gross doesn't affect sales, no. Only "unsafe".

Raw garlic is indeed gross. Maaaaybe raw onion is OK, and will change

Raw garlic is an ingredient of Garlic sauce. Mostly you don't eat it seperately (unless you're going to meet some vampires). Taste my homemade garlic sauce , prepared with raw garlic, it will change your mind.

I agree with this, I feel judged about eating raw onions on sandwiches and burgers now, and I'm sure there are delicious recipes that use raw garlic.

Salsa uses raw garlic and it’s delicious. Bam

imo despite the game attempting to avoid being a recipe generator, you're not going to be able to avoid *some* element of taste because the game is a restaurant simulator. If taste and preference were completely thrown out the window, it would be difficult to rationalize a mechanic wherein you create recipes to satisfy customers.

Granted, the game has WAY less emphasis on taste than something like, say, Chef, but that aspect is still gonna peek through at times. Just have to roll with it, I suppose.

I really miss a game which uses AI-trained on french cuisine to rate (and "virtual taste") your recipes. That would even be some propper edutainment? I need a way to memorize the right way to make classic french dishes. Or other "standards".

I know, that every game developer/publisher wants to lower the barrier for gamers, hopegully to reach a broad, but non-cooking audience. That's not how it works. Look a train or car games: do they have a low knowledge of RL trains and cars? If you go for a niche, like cooking, go all the way.

The hypothesis is that cooking as a light theme is a larger audiance and maket than real hobby chefs which are gamint. But this game failed commercially on a scale - and I'm sorry to say, really - but maybe a REAL cooking game is a profitable niche, but you need to integrate AI or at least user generated content plus AI checks. I'm not sure about the business model. Maybe some kind of "official approved" recipe by AI? Like "the real deal recipes"?

OK, it's a niche, but at least try it out? There are no gamification-approach cooking games with reallife content right now. Just think of "babel for cooking"?

I'd love that, but unfortunately it wouldn't sell at all
