Should I have some form of fire by the 2nd area?

So still getting my bearings with the games mechanics, I'm in the mire and supposed to search in Poldervale but it's frozen everywhere, I see a flame but even moving it around doesn't seem to do much.

This area right now doesn't feel like a natural profession of the first, got this drake flying around which aggros when I'm hardly close to him.

Did I advance to this area to quickly and theres fire magic to bring here from the first areas?

That's good to know but the games quest line sent me straight to the mire and I have no way of combating the ice is why I'm asking. I have like 2 side quests perhaps those open things up.

Taking out the Drake can get you some fire magic.

Yea found it, that quest was buried under another one.. I just was rolling the main quests for the time being.
