How to Let Go?

If I'm gripping on to a surface or a monster, how do I just let go? I get I can press E to grip on, but E doesn't let go. Holding E is for bracing, which is fine, but if I want to just let go of my grip I can't seem to do that? Is that intentional?

(playing Game Pass version btw)

How do you let go while climbing?

I want to let go on a monster's back to regain stamina, but keep jumping around on it

You should press the dodge key/button. On mouse+keyboard, that's ALT by default.

that is one of the annoying parts of the game, it explains it once and after that u find no info how to...

First dodge will make you slide, pressing dodge while sliding is doing an eject jump

How the **** do you simply let go of whatever the hell you're clinging on to??? I'm on kb/m and nothing seems to work to just let go of the bloody walls or the Arks. It's driving me ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ crazy.

ALT/Dodge when climbing will make you drop.
ALT/Dodge when sliding will make you eject.

So when climbing, if you jump then drop, or drop drop -> you'll eject
