Eternal Strands

Vezi statistici:
Performance on High End PC is terrible
RTX 4090, 7800X3D 32GB DDR 5 RAM

Everything on Max setting (Which is Epic Setting) at 4K, DLSS ON with Quality and the FPS in the very first wood section when you start moving around are at around 75-80fps...... With FG on as well it's around 105-110....

Also, keep in mind, that's about the very first scene, normal empty woods, nothing happening, can't even imagine the drops in actual giant fights or big places if it already drops like this in the opening....

Just a bit further tho and Epic Setting on 4K with DLSS Quality leads to 55-65fps in cutscenes and at effects like fire etc....

https://c.l3n.co/i/McQdm2.png

In general DLSS stuff seems a bit broken. In this area it goes down to around 60fps with nothing happening on DLSS Quality at 4K and Epic setting.

https://a.l3n.co/i/McVMi2.png

But if I set it to "Ultra Quality" (Whatever that is) it goes up to 85. Can't see much difference between them tho. Is Ultra Quality higher than Quality?

-----
Edit: Found out "Ultra Quality" uses the same profile as "Performance", so upscale from 1080p to 4K, no idea why this is an Option, but it's not better as the normal "Quality" mode.
----

If I use DLSS Quality and lower some stuff to High I get to around 75 here, it's all in all just a bit disappointing.
This is not the next Naughty Dog AAA spectacle, it shouldn't be pushy like this on a machine like this 🤔....

Hey there! We finally have an answer for this:

Ultra-Quality will be removed in a future patch, as it appears that it was in the code for future use since settings are still being worked out under the hood. Please let us know if you're still experiencing the issues when swapping to a different quality and rebooting the game!

We'll still keep investigating the other issues in the meantime, but we definitely recommend swapping the quality setting. 😊

global illumination

Because it is UE5's ray tracing option.

damn, I didn't know that UE5 had it's own term for it! Turning that off may be the best solution for all our problems. Ray tracing is just a gimmick anyway.

I can't even select 4k in the game options. I've checked all my settings in windows, adrenalin, etc... when i get in game it wants to run the game at 2600/2800 something by 1080p and i cannot for the life of me change it. whether i try window, borderless window, or full screen the option is stuck at that resolution. tried changing upscalers too, does nothing to resolution. This was on gamepass version, 7800x3d, 7900xt on a LG C3.

This must be the reason why the game looked so blurry at 4K. I had a feeling it was upsampling from a lower resolution the whole time, without upscaling turned on.

Game doesn't look blurry to me. I don't play it at 4K since I can only get 45 FPS without DLSS. But even at 45 it is clear. Whats your screen percentage? From the description when hovering over that it says it has to do with the resolution that is rendered on screen. So I am guessing if the slider is lower it will be rendering at a lower resolution. The only thing I am seeing is some screen tearing here and there. That shouldn't be happening on a 144 hz monitor which frames between 70-80 at 1440p.

I am playing on game pass as well. The game was set to some 1080 setting and when I selected 4K it stretched the screen bigger than my monitor. I just ALT F4 and reloaded and it saved the resolution setting and was normal. So something is going on and hopefully they will figure it out and patch it at the same time as steam version.
Did you read the "Requirements carefully? I am using an Laptop ASUS F - 15 with an Geforce 1650 Ti card aka 5 years old without lag, WHY! Because it is not an graphical issue at all. YOU HAVE TO PLAY ON SSD or NVME DRIVE. If not the game will read wrongly. Doesnt matter if you have an $2000/ $$4000 dollar graphics card. REQUIREMENTS is the DRIVE. SSD and better...
Just a heads up: In the graphics menu, for both global illumination and reflections, the tool tip mentions that settings of "High and above" will use "more accurate ray tracing"
This is what I had to do for the gamepass version. (4090 + i9 13900ks + 64gb ram) Playing on a 4K 240hz monitor. My game was extremely blurry despite the settings showing the game running in 4k. (3840x2160)

Change the setting to fullscreen. Which for whatever reason makes the game much larger than the monitor I'm on. Do your best to navigate to quitting the game to desktop and restart the game while in this oversize format. Voila. When you restart you will have crisp, clear, 4k resolution with very decent frames running at all epic settings, dlss and frame gen on with dlss set to dlaa.

I know this is a little different than what OP was having trouble with as far as fps but some people were also struggling with this issue. The fps are perfectly fine on my rig. Beautiful game.
Locked 120 fps at 4k epic with ultra quality DLSS on my 5090 and 9800x3d lol. Upgrade your GPUs and you too can experience unreal engine as it’s meant to be.

I came here to write this. People need to read more before coming here to complain. They just set everything to highest setting and get shocked when they can't get 120+ FPS without upscaling.
Another thing to add is that you should force the latest version of DLSS through Nvidia App, try presets J/K and use whichever you prefer.
5070 Ti, the stutter is seriously starting to bloat me. The culprit is none other than that crappy Unreal stutter 5 engine. Developers shouldn't use this ♥♥♥♥, it can foolishly ruin a game with high potential.

It's almost as if using an engine built specifically for Fortnite and movie VFX for anything other than those 2 things was a bad idea.
