(Spoiler?) How to active harvest an Ashpeak Drake??
Finished the demo already but i still feel like playing it so i decided to finish the companion quests, for Dahm and Sola you need active harvest an Ashpeak Drake.

I tried crippling it, my weapons are upgraded so i only got as far as making its head and both wings blue before it died but still no point appeared where i could active harvest it unlike the Ark's of Shattering Earth

If I'm not mistaken, you need to shatter the horns on its head. At that point, the core will appear ONLY WHEN the Ashpeak Drake takes off for flight with aerial attacks. This will be your opportunity to harvest.

However, the drake will also roll mid-flight to throw you off, draining stamina and forcing you to start harvesting over again. I'm not certain how to mitigate this issue but I think tearing one of the wings stopped it from rolling again.

Thats exactly it. The Codex specifically tells you that. After killing your first instance of an Epic, you can talk to the blue npc in the camp to Codex Compile. Then if you read the Ashdrake entry, it says to harvest you must break its horns to compel it to fly more, and only break one wing to reduce is maneuverability. Same for the first epic too. Codex gives you exact instructions to Harvest
