Flying bosses won't fly so I can't harvest.

Sometimes flying bosses just won't fly away which makes harvesting them impossible. I just spent 45 minutes running circles around an Highland Iceclaw that just refused to take flight. The ability of harvesting a boss being dependent on the whims of the enemies AI is extremely frustrating and I'm considering quitting the game over this. Just dodging and hoping they will at some point do the thing is very aggravating and god help you if you miss jumping on at that very moment.

If you damage both wings (as in fully destroy their HP) on Drake and Iceclaw, they won't be able to fly anymore.

Visual cue is that Drakes wings get all torn apart, while Iceclaws get like "cracks" on them.

Don't you have to damage them though so they don't counter you when harvesting?

If you read the codex after fighting one they tell you exactly how to harvest them

Wait… you get the codex explaining the procedure AFTER you fight the boss, not before… when you need it? 🤷🏽‍♂️

I just fought the ice-bird thing and I don't see anything in my codex.

If you kill a boss once (any way, you don't need to harvest a strand) you will get a strand anyways. Harvesting strand on the first try doesn't give you two upgrades anyways.

So yeah, first kill you can do however and you'll unlock a codex entry that explains how to havest it the next time when it'll matter.

1 wing both legs then harvest.

I actually had this same problem except on the ashpeak drake. He spawned in The Arkons' Hearth where there is literally no room for him to fly anywhere which makes me wonder why he even spawn in there.

Same issue, damaged one wing, other could still take damage. Won't fly. Wasted a bunch of time. What a misery.
