Really Enjoying This Game
I'm playing on Game Pass (sorry?), enjoying it a lot. I'm about 40-ish hours, Working on killing the boss for 8th zone.

But, as someone who works in software development, and have been living, breathing, and in some cases dreaming your game for a bit I have some suggestions, very few of these should have any real mechanical effect.

- Rest/Mid-day save: While I haven't had any crashes (great job!), it makes me very nervous to be 2 hours into a day, hitting up multiple zones farming boss mats and not be able to save. Also not to be able to turn the game off, seems very old-school. Yeah, you don't want people abusing a save. But a simple save and quit -> load and delete save, solves most of that.

- Tutorial for explaining how the stats work would be nice

- Tutorial for explaining the different weather types would be nice (It seems I get better grades of enemies in cold?)

- Please add an inventory tab for your stock back at camp, there are many times when I have to choose between keeping two different mats and knowing how much I have of the two back at camp would be awesome. Even if it was just a number in a corner, that would be huge.

- The triggers should cycle through the pages of the current tab, and then the next tab if you're on the last tab. Having to push right 6 times to go to the second tab is a bit much.

- Lists should wrap around, dialog menus, codex, etc. Pressing up from the first list item should select the last one.

- Ways to find missing codex entries, you have the wisp, could make it target those. Same thing with the zone bosses, it would be nice to be able to use the wisp to find that. Adding a new UI element for that would be annoying. Maybe just the ability to untrack the current quest and if there is not quest selected it will track the zone boss or codec orbs?

- A way to craft gear to higher levels, so you don't have to craft -> upgrade over and over.

- A way to remake gear, so all your levels and mats transfer to a new pattern? If I want to try out a new weapon, it's a like a 10 step process to make/upgrade/transfer mats

- Please explain "more" in the gear, you have a "show damage numbers" option, you can tie "math stuff" to that. So you would see "9% more health" "+10% magic regen", etc.

- Please add an ability to sort your bag "sort by rarity" or whatever

Ok, that's all I have for now. I mostly had to get that out of my brain. Thanks for the game, great work!

Presumably because it's "free" there.

Yea gamepass has some strange guilt effect when you find a real good game out of nowhere lol.

I'm assuming that the Devs get more (direct) money from sales on Steam or whatever. I've heard things like Gamepass or Epic Free-game-o-the-week thing give devs a lump sum of money.

There's been a lot of discussion about how much money and attention games get on Game Pass, what it means for development priorities and the notion of ownership. and so on.

But at the end of the day, please don't feel guilty for playing Eternal Strands on Game Pass. The devs made the decision to have the game on Game Pass on day one, and they don't even have a publisher that might've forced that on them. So why feel guilty as a customer for playing the game there?
There is no reason to feel guilty about playing on Gamepass.
MS pays the developers who want to be in the service, and you pay MS.
I don´t think anyone feels guilty about watching a movie on Netflix?

I think especially for smaller Devs and new IPs GP is a great safety net.
