Armor, Weight and Resistances
Does anyone know what the stats are actually doing?
- does lower weight = better stamina efficiency and recovery?
- is armor point for point dmg reduction?
- is cold/fire % reduction?

Great game tho - playing on gamepass.

Yeah I think we need better details on what stats do and also how your magic gets better when you level it up.

I don't have any numbers, of course, but from playing the game, I wonder if there's an internal heat gauge for the player which increases/decreases more quickly or more slowly depending on resistances. Once it reaches a certain threshold, it causes damage and (in the case of frost) slowdown.

One thing I wanna note is that I used to wear very heavy armour focussing on raw armour value for a bit, and that'd actually make a handful of enemy attacks bounce right off without doing any damage. When attacking some doors, as well as when attacking the armour plates on the big boss arks and some of the heavily armoured standard enemies, I've also noticed I need to use my two-hander to be able to damage them at all. That suggests to me that armour may have a threshold where (for example) if the full damage value is lower than the armour value, attacks cause no damage at all.

This is super helpful for now thanks. Hoping a dev can respond to provide clarity.

I suspect armor is a Damage Reduction type effect, like every point of armor subracts X points of damage. With around 200 armor many blows seem to bounce off of me.

I think cold/heat work both about increasing the time the takes to proc, but also provides a DR for attacks of those elements. I have a bunch of fire res and I can stand in a room on fire with no real problems, but an enemy with an ice attack does a crap load of damage.
Weight also affects how susceptible you are to Kinetic magic!

If I'm wearing extremely light armor, and walk into my own Ensnaring Blast field, I physically cannot walk out. When I tried the same thing with heavy armor, I was able to in and out without any noticeable difference in move speed.

I also suspect that using the Blast to catapult yourself is less effective with more weight for the same reason.

Moving around in ice also felt more difficult in heavy armor. Granted, I also had less Ice Resistance, so I'm less sure of the relationship there.

I’ve been experimenting with running & jumping while wearing various armor sets. Lighter armor seems to allow for further jump distance as well.

Seems heavier armor means more fall damage too
