I am running an i914900 with RTX4090 and 64GB
Just opening a quick crashes discussion hopefully for it to remain constructive, and hopefully we can work toward a stable client.
Has anyone find a workaround or fix for the crashing on high end PCs?
seems to be random happens for seemingly no reason, and often when transitioning story scene to gameplay, started at the end of the prologue after the dragon fight.
Rig
-14900ks
-64gb 6000mhz Ram
-RTX 4900
-NVME internal Game Drive with around 3TB left free.
-Triple Screens, 1440p Panels running at 180hz, no surround just single primary monitor in use for display with borderless windowed mode.
No overclocking, or anything weird just running stock, and seems to be the only UE game im having this issue with currently.
Bro, your CPU is dying. You might want to look that whole dumpster fire situation up.
Do updated your bios?
So you might want to check if your cpu is still a properly working one.
Disable any of the third party overlays, like nvidia overlay or whatever, you might want to check your mouse apps.
Could be also because of Win 11 24H2.
Could be also because of the latest nvidia gpu drivers, use ddu, then clean install any of these, 566.14 or 561.09 or before.
Could be where the game is installed the driver isn't properly working or giving errors.
Could be you have memory issues, so you maybe can try a single or only dual stick.
Could be your gpu is messed up.
Problem with 13900K/14900K is a faulty microcode algorithm. The latest motherboard updates fix that issue. Things you can do aswell:
disable hyperthreading and E-Cores in your BIOS (most games don't use em anyway). Oh and check your BIOS CPU multiplicators, many BIOS manufacturers have set it higher than the CPU's default.
BIOS updates often require a windows reinstallation. If you bought the PC as a bundle from a company, best to contact them first (warranty issues, windows OEM etc.).
I've got an i9 13900k and in the current 6h playtime I had no crashes or troubles.
To check your CPU health, use the Intel® Processor Diagnostic Tool.
Please do some research. The prevailing big issue Is a silicon problem, not a microcode issue, so chances of a hardware fault are unfortunatley not that low. The microcode may help you if you install it early enough because it reduces the power draw, slowing the degeneration. If your CPU has already been affected it will not help retroactively.
Intel does RMA those CPUs affected by the problem, but you have to actively ask for it, they did not issue a recall.
i get a "fatal error" unreal engine failure.
maybe it's the new nvidia drivers? i installed 572.16 on my 2080ti this morning before installing the game
