currently trying it out, runs at about 30 fps with some dips on low. You can get 50 by lowering anti aliasing but then the game looks blurry. My current issue is cut scenes not playing appropriately on steamdeck, ill just get a black screen with some captions. Running different compatibility modes hasnt fixed this. The actual gameplay is ok, it has native controller support.
Already reported on various YouTube videos that it does not play well on Deck

I need auto aim on Steam Deck.

So, running GE proton fixed my cut scene issues and the game runs stable at around 35 fps. The gameplay is good since you can enable gyroscope. This game makes my steam deck feel like a nintendo switch with how low the graphical fidelity needs be.

If you're really interested in the game, it's playable. But the devs expressed a desire to be steamdeck verified so you can wait and see how they update it.

Bout 2-3 hours i think? Haven't tracked it specifically but around there, not using any battery saving measures.

How do I enable ge proton. Is it default or do I have to mod? I mostly have a vanilla deck other than using other game launchers.

Unreal engine 5 games in general doesn't run good on Steam Deck.
Take this with a grain of salt, because I seem to be the exception. But on my steam deck oled, is running perfectly well.

Its not a grain of salt.
Just tried on my OLED and it runs really well considering its UE5.

I have it running locked to 30fps and everything at low and its running just fine.
I don't have my deck modded at all either. Just vanilla.

There is stll some headroom as the frames were averaging around 40 unlocked so im going to try increasing various setting slowly but this is more than playable and fantastic for late night farming runs.

The controls work REALLY well also and as someone above said... enable gyro for even better aim.

I have a regular steamdeck too, haven't done anything to it.

You go into desktop mode, go to the discovery story, look up protonup Qt, install and run it, then download proton ge. Then it'll pop up on your compatibility options for all steam games.

I never did it before, followed a guide on reddit, and finished it in about ten minutes. There's a video on YouTube about how to install it and what the different proton versions are if you want to learn more.

Adding my Steam Deck OLED experience to add to the chorus:

Using the low preset settings,
Shadows medium,
XeSS set to Ultra performance (looked a lot better than FSR set to Ultra Performance)
TDP set to 8 watts and frames limited to 30 via SteamOS

It maintains a steady 30fps, which results in around 4 - 5 hours of battery.

Of course it can look and run better at the cost of battery life if you're not heavily restricting the TDP as I've done.

Small note: as mentioned above, I did have issues with movie playback. E.g. the game's startup animated company logo movie doesn't play and you get a few seconds of what looks like an broadcast testing screen.

Nice. Using your settings now. I never tried the TDP before. What does that do?

The game just crashes out to Steam for me on my OLED Steam Deck, right after the shader compilation completes. I tried Proton-GE_9.23 but no change. Any ideas? I verified the file cache as well.

I tried the latest Proton Experimental and it runs fine now.
With Proton-GE 9-20, fgmod FSR 3.1 ultra performance, medium settings, framegen on 60fps
