But that means switching weapons and magic with the "Up" button.
I can see why they won't let you customize it freely, since some buttons need to have multiple functions.
And not many games pull it off in a functional way.
As far as my experience go, if a game gives you the option to customize inputs while allowing multiple buttons to have multiple functions, something goes horrible wrong and it's a buggy mess, even with AAA games.
I tend to really dislike using R1 for any form of main attacking unless it's aim is important like God of War or a Quick range option like Spider-man and Tsushima
I currently am using Controller 2 but i through Steam Input have an Extra R1 on Square and whatever is on Square as Holding R3
