how does one obtain the glasstail strand?

I've beat it twice, and both times, I haven't been given the strand, and it hasn't shown up either time. In the same vein, how do you pull the strand from the as peak killing it the first time does give it to you, but every time I go to pull the strand from it, it rolls and throws me off.

If you check the Bestiary file on the creature it gives hints on how to make the point appear. A list of things need to be done to trigger their appearance, in the dragon's case you need to break its horns and ONE wing only, the weak point will appear while it is flying around after that. (you'll see a strange light orb symbol appear under its Health Bar when its exposed)

As for the Glasstail you need to burn off its Fur and break the ice spikes it has on its head and body (including the chin spike) and then bait it to slam its head and stun itself for the mark to appear on the back of its neck.

For the dragon, you want to destroy their horns and 1 wing. That way it doesn't roll, but don't destroy both, as he won't fly and you won't be able to pull the strand
