Is the whole game gonna be like this?
I'm finding it difficult to get invested in the game's narrative when I'm being bombarded with cutscenes every 5 seconds, and I have characters constantly yapping at me while I'm trying to explore and soak up the atmosphere., Why is there so. much. dialogue?

This is negatively impacting my enjoyment of the game, and the writing being so dry and generic isn't helping matters. As a result the pacing feels very sluggish throughout the tutorial. I really hope the amount of chatter during normal gameplay will decrease by a lot further into the game, or that might be a big dealbreaker.

Completely agree here. Very annoying experience. This is another one of those cases where the developer expects the player to be enthralled in the story without even having explained it yet.

Also agree that the writing is extremely boring. Why are the characters cheering me on for doing nothing? "You are doing great!", "Final stretch!", "Great work", "Well she did take on a dragon!" (all I did was throw 2 rigidbodies at it before another cutscene played. It's very annoying in the same way being constantly berated is.

Great. Unfortunately I don't attack imaginary groups behind the product. I just judge the product.

That’s not unfortunate at all, that’s mature behavior.

I knew the narrative wasn't for me when the introduction is like "The world was peaceful before the [Synonym for wizard] caused the [Event]. Blah blah blah Proper Noun, Proper Noun, Proper Noun." with the cliched camera panning over a map as an ink blot signifies the spread of conflict. It's like it's trying so hard to be a unique fantasy setting it loops around to being generically indistinct.
This the difference between "telling" instead of "showing" in story telling.
So, to those who've played the game, what's the verdict?

Is there still constant jabbering from supporting characters in the mid to late game?

There is a lot of dialogue at certain points and whenever you advance quests. The writing stays a bit safe and bland, the story gets a bit more interesting and complex around the midpoint. Story is definetley not a strength of the game. If you like the gameplay-sandbox, there is quite a lot on offer though. Generally a bit stretched out. Could have done with a few cuts here and there.

At the same time, most of the quests are absolutely useless and don’t reward you with anything. As for the 'cheering'—this is out of place, and the other characters are terrible hysterics, which is really annoying.
