My thoughts after playing for a bit
nice visuals
the game-play is fun though I do find the controls a bit odd especially when it comes to the bow like I guess I was expecting the bow controls to be like lt to aim and rt to shoot it
I also wished that the parry button was Y so the combat can flow better
I'm not a fan of parrying in this game so at some point I just stopped doing it about 2 hours in didn't really matter if I did it or didn't parry

I'm indifferent to the 2d to 3d cut-scenes
Too me it was off putting when I first started playing
I went in thinking all the cut-scenes were going to be 3d I will say i was a bit dissapointed especially when it came to being at the camp talking too and having group conversations with companions it took me out of the game for bit wish it all was real time 3d instead of the 2d conversations
3d cut-scenes look great just wish it more of it and less 2d when comes to conversations at the campsite I don't know how the rest of the game will be but I'm assuming most of the conversations will be 2d at camp

would love for there to a quick switch between abilities and weapons instead of having to open the wheel every time

My biggest complaints
no enough fast travel points and the simple fact that i cant just open the map and fast travel to the location
there's a lot back tracking (I'm not a fan of it)
having to go through the area all over again I got bored it

also

inventory limit
its super tedious to me at least

wish there was mounts would make a traversal a lot more fun

On the point of fast travel, about 1 to 2 hours in the game you do obtain a Loomshard which allows you to fast travel back to Basecamp from anywhere in The Enclave. This doesn't solve your issue with the lack of fast travel points entirely of course, but I still wanted to mention it, as the Loomshard does ease a lot of the friction you mentioned about backtracking :)

Inventory limits, you do unlock more slots as you upgrade Casmyn's station (by transforming materials into supplies). You can start doing that pretty early in the game, too!

And we don't have mounts, but you do eventually unlock the kinetic stream spell which acts as a tunnel of kinetic force that you can propel yourself into to glide through the world. This, you do unlock a little bit later in the game though.

Yeah this a hard lesson to learn. The rare chest don’t seem to reset. Even if I run back to it. It’s too late. I lost it cause lack of space 8 set items starting…I just went through everything. Killed a rare monster. Didn’t have space. Had to finish the collapsed mining quest. So now lost everything and I gotta walk around again cause I need two soft wood cause I had to throw one out since I was choosing the best items. Tedious for no reason. Putting it down for now, will wait if that changes later in time. The idea of the game is great. I was loving it. Till I realized I lost all those items. Now I know the rare chest items i left behind are gone. Rare monsters probably won’t spawn or will?.. I don’t know but not walking back to find out. Inventory and travel points or like chest to drop items off in your encampment bank so you can keep adventuring instead of traveling back. 🤞👍
