What stats benefit necromancer?
So, jumping back in after being away for a while and am curious about what stats a necromancer scales with. The only one I can see obviously is strength, as minions get max health from it. I see that minions get strength/intelligence buffs through heritage if you recast the summon skill but it doesn't say anything about whether the vampire's stats affect them.

The same goes for decay, does it scale off of anything other than multicast? does crit, or intelligence buff it or summoning in any way?

Just curious, thanks.

Necro kinda got screwed on stats, there are a few ways to get certain things that scale but generally speaking most of the abilities don't. If I remember right you can get a heritage that will make the base summon minion spell scale HP off of your strength but otherwise minions don't scale at all

Yea I've found minions are not great for damage (the one exception being against enemies that only take 1 damage per hit, in that case minions are great for stacking lots of extra attacks). They are nice meatshields though, so strength, as well as decor that buffs minion hp are quite nice. I just let my minions absorb hits while I stack decay on enemies and finish them off with some other spells, so generally I tend to go intelligence, strength and multicast on necro, along with a bit of defense to survive aoe attacks. It's done pretty well for me so far. Very survivable, only downside being fights can drag out a bit.

Yeah, fights do drag on, thats the downside of making a school that require lots of setup. Main issue I have with them is they don't feel like they're getting rewarded for how much they have to do to get set up. I can spend several turns setting up a full party, get random units, and then still have to actually kill the enemy or I can go play blood/ferocity and kill them in the first turn or two. Its just sad but Necro after setup does less damage than turn 1 blood or ferocity. Decay builds are possible but they're also slow and I would only do it if I can get the decay can't be dispelled lineage. Necrolord can scale itself which is kinda neat but takes forever to get rolling.
