Nope. You hit level 7, and then the kid gloves come off. You'll be placed against people who can wipe you out without even losing their shields.
ok
time to get my wallet out

The issue is you’ll be going against people like me who

1.) have been playing since launch and have upgraded parts and good mech combos

2.) are really fricken good, as in I’m in top 3 every game good

3.) sometimes crappy teammates

The good news is I was a total noob and got demolished at first too. Also many other players aren’t really good and so far I feel there’s sort of a balance with good and bad players on each team. Once I started playing learning and not being a sissy I started whooping guys who had “premium” or prob upgraded mechs. I started winning and getting into the top 3 of matches and getting good and earning parts. All while not paying a dime. Now I got a fleet of decent mechs I’ve earned for free playing and being skillful.

Money in this game only makes you upgrade quicker. Everything can be grinded and upgraded for

I'm lvl 19 right now and I'm still winning 80% of the matches. Its all about strategy. I'm a father of 2 kids, not good reflexes, and I still win a lot
The amount of lives you have tied to your number of mechs in some modes. Starting out i had two mechs against people with 4. Not fair at all. Wallet warriors have better chanche to kit out mechs too. Just remember that they can't pay to keep the flamer flankers away. :steamsalty:

Sort of.

You had the phantom as well.
It's like this. The game just came out as a open play thing not that whole closed.
It's been about a week or two?

Just hide behind your team mates.
I early on suggested people use Mr.Flames on stuff like the very early days on my lance because boy does it hurt.

Once you buy enough parts find you'll be fine. Weapons are in shop they ranom cycle it sucks but it is as it is.

Don't feel obligated to be good, just be a coward and snipe for the first few games.
My main mech is a missile boat with a phantom body because flying adds to dmg and since I'm hopping around anyhow mech warrior style may as well. All free. Not a dime paid on those parts.

Facts are we're all still newbies.

Meanwhile my kitted out lance still has problems with flames lol truly FLAMES are the great equalizer. They may be OP but man they definitely counter Mr.$$$lot.

Just play. I think it took me like 2 hours to get 4 mechs and then 8 or 9 to get parts to build a decent fifth. You can get by with less mechs for sure. Just use the structures as cover. Make sure you watch your shields, if they are down, take cover to get them back before you keep engaging. Stay with your team so you can focus fire targets. Do that and you will be off to a good start.
Um is it easier to grind then the other game ? lol

Yes. I say this as a dude who logs in to check my 7 day projects out on the mobile.
This is so so so much more accessible. FOR NOW.

So yes, it's fun untill you reach lvl 7.

I too have hit the level 7 blues. :( 3 matches in a row with 0 kills but 3-5 assists. Bots I was melting at level 6, are laughing at me now. I rarely get more than 2 kills in a fight since level 7. Constantly grouped in battles where the other bots r far above mine. Mechs with those saucer like domes, that I have no access to, that hop around like a jelly bean and hit like a truck, shrug my attacks off and chase me down because none of my mechs are close to as fast or agile as them. EVERY fight I am in, that 3rd level Titan shows up by at least 2/3 of the players. That tells me right there I have no chance. The other players recognize I have a weak mech and clearly single me out for an easy kill before attacking the tougher threats. Not having much fun at all.

I really dnno how ppl complain so much about difficulty. I guess almost all ppl just full charge expecting some kills and end up dying. This game is all about strategy, try shooting ppl who is already on fight from the back, and once someone shoots you, just hide and recover your shields. Learn about every robot, every robot requires a different aproach. My favorite one is the sniper one, I can mealt everyone real quick with the missiles hability.

Last day I got my kill record, I got 12 kills and 3.5M damage, playing with a flamer, sniper and ofc the Titan
24 hours in and I'm still getting paired with new people. I was frustrated seeing people with 5 mechs only using one, doing 2 million damage after 10 minutes. Now its new people getting cheesed by the unbalanced flamer weapons.

Matchmaking needs some serious work, but modern audiences wouldnt enjoy balanced matchmaking. The sweats would be sweating and not having a grimy win.

Heres the thing, I am not charging in like that. I sit back and snipe and barely ding their shields. I go in with my teammates in a big rush and guess who dies first? I can CLEARLY, see that at least 2/3rds of the people on my team and the other team have the level 3 Titian. What level do you get that at? I am at level 8. So they are far above me level wise if they have the level 3 Titan. That means their regular mechs are way above mine too. And when I die and watch peeps fight, I am watching some of the bots with speed and agility I can only dream of.

I should NOT be grouped with people this far above me is all I am saying. When I first started, I had trouble until I got to about level 3 or 4. Once I got that high, I could hold my own with the level 4-6 bots. So, i assume people at 7 and above were excluded from me then.
Agreed, it shouldn't be as loose as it is. With how the game is balanced poor matchmaking will ruin a lot of people's view of the game.
