The dev's say they are " listening ", yet the logical they use to implement what " they think " they hear is astounding.
In Australia, we say " ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Useless "
a hybrid system would have been better, but also the fact that you cant put things back into storage is also a problem, have had 2 MP games ruined because of this feature and griefers. you should still have the old automated system, and the manual operations system which is more efficant should be AVALABLE for those who wish to invest the micro in useing it.
The thing is, you could do this already. I was doing this on my last save game. You could completely ignore stockpiles and put a barge directly on a factory island to deliver things to you. But now it takes several extra steps to make it work. The function isn't new, but it's become more cumbersome, along with the total loss of the old way which was still better in some situations.
At least now operating barges manually doesn't waste time by having barges move halfway across the map to meet you, then realize something was wrong with the number of items requisitioned, and then turn around and go home with items it could have delivered.
New system isn't perfect, but it fixes more problems than it introduces.
