Weapons Wiki
In this post I will track all the statistics about weapons that have been observed by direct observation. Please comment with confirmed observations or corrections and I will update this post as more information comes in. Until we get an actual wiki for the game this can help. I will use '~' for roughly observed and not precisely confirmed.

Weapon | Range | Target Types
  • Radar | 10Km | Surface vessels, Aircraft
  • Cruise Missile | 25Km | Ground, Surface Vessels
  • 160mm deck gun | ~5Km | Ground, Surface Vessels
  • IR Missile | ~over 3Km | All
  • Laser Missile | ~over 2Km | Surface vessels
  • TV Missile | 5Km(from launch vehicle) | Any
  • AA Missile | ~Over 5km*| Aircraft*
(note) 5Km range to lock. Will target other types if original target is destroyed.
  • Rocket | Unknown | Any
  • Torpedo |~10Km | Surface vessels
  • 20mm AC |800m |Any
  • 30mm cannon | 1Km | Any
  • 40mm cannon | 1Km | Any
  • Heavy Cannon | Unknown | Any
  • Battle Cannon | Unknown | Ground, Surface Vessels
  • Artillery | Unknown | Ground, Surface Vessels

you're missing the 20mm cannons you can get in planes and helis, iirc the AI shoots ground units at around 400m with them

Placed in walrus AA cannon shoot at 800m. It cannot lock in auto mode, but you can shoot by hands

Nice. Was curious about the ranges~
I heard Cruise missiles had a ~10km range, though they would need to be targeted and fired remotely, as that is outside your scopes tagging range.

Haven't tried as of yet, as most targets like to move. And missiles take a while to travel.

Thanks for the extra info. Anyone confirmed ranges or target types for some of these other weapons?

Walruses can shoot AA guns further than Seals?

Yeah, I have an alb fly ahead of me and use its camera to bring in cruise missiles as my carrier is approaching the island

Huh, I swear I shot a laser guided missile from beyond Gimbal detection radius... I gotta see that again to make sure.

I've sent laser-guided missiles about 7km, I wouldn't be surprised if they have the same distance limits as the cruise missile. And I think the cruse missile doesn't have a limit, definitely guided one over 10km. Torpedoes too, sending those beyond 10km is all too easy (currents noticeably affect their speed).

Cruise missile is 25 km

I think AA and IR missiles have maximum lock-on ranges but no "maximum range". So if the missile launches and tracks it will chase its target to the end of the earth. The lock on range for IR and AA missiles seems to be 4km.

Really wanna know what TV missiles do though :D

TV missiles are manually controlled means you have to controlle the missle like an Albatros

Ooh ok, fly by wire? Got it, thanks!

That's not exactly what fly by wire means, but your understanding is correct :)

(Fly by wire is an aircraft control system on the aircraft itself that sits between the controls and the aircraft control surfaces etc and sort of manages the pilot inputs to better match the performance characteristics of the vehicle. E.g. the reaction control system on the Bell X-15 that allowed it to be piloted in space similarly to an atmospheric plane, even though space maneuvering works very differently)

TVGM are 5km, but it appears that's the distance between the controlling craft and the missile, not actually a fuel limit. I've had times where I got close to the 5k limit but didn't actually exceed while using them against ships by maneuvering the missile out of the CIWS arc.
I'll have to try flying it around in a circle to see if it has fuel limits too.
Also, "firing" a TVGM while you're flying it detonates it, which is handy if you miss the target and can't circle around for another try.
