This is the Sequel?
i sincerely hope the pictures on this aren't true. it looks like a block building game. what happened to the awesome designs from Gaea mission? If this is the next game after waiting this long I am truly disappointed

It's not a sequel to Gaea Mission, it is by a different developer. Gaea Mission was a re-imagining, this looks like it will be an alternate re-imagining.

Gaeia mission is an FPS?
At least that's how it felt, when I started playing it, got bored and uninstalled.

honestly Gaea missions style was really good, and its a shame that they are having something like this made

this isnt a block building game or vehicle building game. straight from the devs

Well, if I may, it's a shame that you wouldn't read what was written just there. It's not related to Gaea Mission, it's a re-imagining of the original Carrier Command from the late 80s. "They" are different people with a different approach, with its own game design perspective. It is unrelated to Gaea. Please deal with it? Cheers.

Indeed, this is the long awaited sequel to the original, from Microprose, one of the greatest game companies ever. And it look like they are staying true to the original game unlike Gaia mission (which had little to do with the original)

Yeah it looks downright cartoon-ish.

Look at the floor of the CIC, the chairs, the consoles, etc. Might as well be Minecraft. I'm not necessarily saying it needed to be some flashy Unreal product but it absolutely can look better than this.

Hopefully it just means they are focusing on gameplay mechanics and performance rather than graphics. Thing is I will just be coming down from Horizon: Zero Dawn and Cyberpunk 2077, which have been stunning, so it would be a bit of a shock to the system.

yeah thats one im saying it looks like a little effort game i can understand if they were following in the foot steps of the original carrier command but at least make it look less like a cheap attempt to make money

i get that. i was shocked. gaea mission was my intro to the carrier command games. i didnt have the luxury of playing the first one so i can see how my view is different that others

thats cool and all but it honestly looks like a cheap attempt to make money off the original instead of making a new original idea. i didnt get to play the first one so i have a different view of the series

Gaea Mission's whole aesthetic was bland and far less interesting than this. The units were so visually indistinct that they could have been ripped from a SY-FY channel movie and the extensive use of low-vis grey was incredibly uninspired. It also doesn't help that, at a wider level, the game's color palette and lack of any stylization leave it looking like just about every mid-tier sci-fi game that came out during the later half of the the last cycle. At least when I see screenshots of this game, I can tell where they came from.
