Barges and unloading to carrier, solved for me
I'm currently learning the game and I thought I was going nuts when I couldn't get the barges to unload on the carrier. They were just sitting next to the carrier with full load, just idling by. Even when sitting next to an island, it was just switching statuses between "Waiting island" and "Waiting Carrier".

After that I installed some UI mods. Then I saw my carrier was overweight by a factor of almost 5000, even though I had just started the game and the carrier had just the starting stock.

I found out the culprit was the save game editor which I used to disable the enemy carrier so I could just concentrate on the basics with cleaning islands and logistics without any pressure.

On the save game editor there's a field "Total weight" which had set the carrier stock weight to some ridiculous number when saving the edited save file. I set it to zero (even if that's not the case when you have some stock), saved and the barge started finally unloading cargo.

Known issue. I reported to the editor dev.

Be warned that you did not fix the problem.

The bug is that no matter what value you enter into the save editor, your carrier weight will ALWAYS be set to 2 if you use it.

The moment you lose weight more than what you barge loaded + 2, the interger will once again underflow to that crazy value.

There is currently no recovery for save files that use the save editor. And using the editor to fix the problem will only reset your weight to 2. The value box does nothing.

What is this save game editor you talk about?

Or search "CC2 Save Editor" on the Steam Forum and you'll find the thread.

Again, be warned, the editor is currently damaged, and using it in ANY way will cause your carrier's weight to be set to 2 on game load. Which is a MASSIVE hindrance instead of a help.

Update: If you want to play the game with Omega dead so you have no time pressure, this is how you can do so without using the Save Editor program.

Find your game save .xml in "%AppData%\Carrier Command 2\saved_games\".

If you do not know which save slot is the one you want, "%AppData%\Carrier Command 2\persistent_data.xml" will tell you.

Then Ctrl+F and look for is_ai_controlled="true"

There will be two of them, ID 0 and ID 2. ID 2 is Omega.

Change ID 2's "is_destroyed=false" to "is_destroyed=true"

Omega will blow up the next time you load the save. The game is now in "free roam" for you to test things out.

Hello future reader. If you make this mistake you can fix the bugged weight with cheat engine. First, reload the game. You will have the overflowed weight. Use cheat engine to do a "First Search" for the weight value. It's a normal integer so just leave the settings as they are. You will get multiple results. Now you need to fire a weapon whose ammo has a known weight. I fired a torpedo which weighs 1000kg. Perform a "Next Search" for the overflowed weight minus the weight you just fired. You should now get only one result. Change this value to a reasonable number, close to what the weight should be, then save the game. This fixed the weight issue for me.
