And yes just have the barge pickup the item and deliver it directly to the carrier. The carrier still can't pick things up directly however. And you also cannot unload thing from the carrier onto a barge. You can only destroy it. So plan the space available accordingly.
I have to say I am not that smart when it comes to this game. It just doesn't feel intuitive. We should be able to dock our carriers, and have them outfitted, and restocked if we wish to do so.
It sounds so mismanaged.
But it's not confusing at all, they clearly changed it to this way so that barges are just another unit in your arsenal to command. You move them around and tell them to do things like you would any seal or albatross. You just do it through a different screen.
