In mid game you can have dozens of barges. I actually have 20 or more (64 island map). If you plan them well, they will always be with you.
Atack all 1-shield and 2-shield islands even if you dont need resources. Every island generates cash every minute. You can spam what you have even weak wehicles if they die you construct it again and again and burn enemy anyway.
With every step you are stronger and stronger, and 3- shield and 4-sh will be possible. Make easy money. I know start is slow but... this is startegy game or generate smaller world.
With cash every blueprit that you have automatically means "infinite amount" of this item.
For example... Russian army in WWII pushing Germany by numbers not quality ;)
Try some strategies. All works fine.
Nobody will use the barges then. The current balance and the economy will be broken. The speed of the entire game will increase dramatically and the AI doesn't stand a chance. The whole character of the game would change from strategy to RTS:. But who knows :)
Two words: MV-22 Osprey. If we can load supplies in a VTOL aircraft to drop onto an LHD in 2021, there's zero excuse for not being able to in whatever futuristic setting this is trying to be.
Also, you're not helping your argument any re: logistics. The logistics in this game is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ as it is.
Well, if you need money, just kill one Needlfish (or how that AI ship called), $5000 reward is much better than $20 per minute.
